That’s actually quite similar to my own idea to have his entire wardrobe be “lost in the laundry” for a couple of day, forcing him to wear drab commoners clothes.
As the kickstarter seems to be doing quite well at this point maybe a male MC expansion pack could be considered (although I’m asking that mainly so I can have a chance to truly Romance Lisle). Maybe he (the optional male mc) could be from Skald, kind of like a male Cordelia in that he doesn’t feel quite at home in his homeland?
Or a political marriage with Blain, that could be fun too.
Lastly could we get at least some CG’s that show the various characters Boots and Shoes too? Since this is a prince(ss) game I’d love to see the full costume porn.

I think that Seven Kingdoms is fantastic as is, with the just a female protagonist. Adding in a male protagonist, at this point would be an awful lot of work, it’d essentially be a new game.
If you read the tumblr comments on Lisle you’ll find out why that’s not possible. It would be severely out of character. (Unless something new has been posted since I last ventured into the black hole of tumblr). But, that’s what fanfiction is for, I think.
@Aly Do you actually have any interest in creating games with male protagonists? Or the possibility to choose male or female? There’s plans for games after this one, right?
You know that could actually tie into my “lost in the laundry” plot very neatly in a nice two step plan.
First we need to get together with Ana and Penelope to gossip in a location where Blain can overhear us. with the topic naturally turning to the handsome men of Skald. At that point we need to have princess Ana mention a “traditional” way for men to propose (clad in a skimpy fur loincloth and nothing else, with maybe a silly dance or a silly poem thrown in for good measure) in ancient Skald, that is sadly not often used anymore these days. Which Ana thinks is really sad as she would love it if only one of the silly modern men had the courage to propose to her in this “traditional” way.
Of course after Blain buys into it and gets changed to perform this silly courtship dance, we will arrange for his laundry to be picked up. With him wearing the silly Skald outfit at the time his laundry is picked up we have neatly solved the problem of getting our hands on all his outfits, including the one he would normally wear and any pajamas . After that our allies amongst the natives would just need to stymie his butler’s efforts to retrieve the clothes for a day or two.
In game terms this plot would, of course, need high relationships with Ana and Penelope as well as the island natives and at least one of your maids.
It could be done as an expansion pack. It wouldn’t have as much content as the female protagonist, of course. Think something like Dragon Age Awakening for DA:O. It would be a lot of work but one or two backgrounds and 3-4 romances would be enough to make it a very satisfying experience I think.
Of course it’s fine with as a pure Otome game, I wouldn’t have backed it if I didn’t think that, after all I’m not spending taxpayer money here. Remember what I said about inane and wishful suggestions, this is just the second biggest of them all.
@alliebee That’s so excited and amazing! And definitely not a usual pace for kickstarter right? @Aly I love your stretch goals, especially the new ones. When will we see pics of the new LIs or are they a surprise? I hope you’re prepared to make new new stretch goals when these get met tomorrow xp
What’s a POV? It’s not point of view is it? The description made me think it must be something new. Plus how’ll a silhouette work? Like, will my hair length and fashion choices be represented?

Re: Male protags, any game I make will definitely always give the option to play as a female mc, but once I have enough resources that I don’t have to do everything myself (and someone else can code all the gender stuff) I have no problems with making a game where you can choose what gender to play

@pyla8 POV’s are already in the game (you can unlock them and then find them in the bonus gallery) Basically they are scenes written from the point of view of a non-mc character. It gives you insight into what they are thinking/feeling aside from what they say.
As for the new LI I had no idea they would be unlocked so fast! Emailing my artist with the news is on (my ever growing) to do list. As soon as she has sketches, I’ll show them!
(But that’s waiting until at least tomorrow, because I have to write descriptions for them and my brain is fried today haha)
I hope the kickstarter will do well enough to reach the special Blain path stretch goal!
Maybe you could incorporate the best Blain pranks into that, instead of just a short scene after the game?
Something to look forward to then?
I must say that with all the stretch goals you’ve incorporated April next year seems mighty ambitious as a release date to me. (Fortunately for me the tier I could afford does include alpha access).

We’re getting awfully close to getting a special Blain path! I’m so excited! And if we’ve gotten this far in 2 days, there’s no doubt in my mind that we’ll reach the prequel stretch goal
@Aly Do you happen to know or have an estimate for when qualifying backers will get access to the Alpha version of the game? I assume some time after the kickstarter ends, but I’m curious! Always dying to play more 7KPP
She said she’s going to try to get greenlit on Steam and I hope, for those of us like me who like to avoid Steam, it will also be purchasable directly from her website.
