Totally fine!
Nooo…my lovecraftian vampiric fae-werewolf detective! ![]()
Lol, but seriously, it’s all good. Sometimes it’s fun to theorize. But if it’s only pure Victorian hijinks, I’m still enjoying myself.
On the Fem route when all the “suitors” showed up the day after the Queen’s Ball, all of the options relating to the piano were grayed out. I took a peek at the code, and it looks like MCs who have a music stat between 21 and 25 are locked out of all of those options.
Thank you! I initially had another option in there but I was bored writing more piano options haha. I clearly didn’t fix it properly. I’ll do so.
Btw everyone, I’m taking a few more days off writing. It’s because of personal stuff, not hate of editing lol, I went through something fairly traumatic the past few months and it’s finally been sorted out, so I really do need the break. But I’ll fix those mistakes and get back into the writing saddle this weekend!
We all know Griffith got lost and you are actually just trying to find and drag him back, Kwartel. ![]()
But seriously, take the time you need. ![]()
Take whatever time you need. Glad it’s been sorted. Everyone deals differently, but I do recommend having the nicest meal possible. ![]()
me when the ‘shadows’ part of the title comes into play which i definitely did not forget about because i was having so much fun:
but man i feel like your writing style truly makes the story and gives it so much life. like AI could truly never reach this level of atmosphere ever. the way you were able to manage a complete 180 in the span of just one chapter going from hilarious pamphlet wars which i could not stop laughing at to ominous dinner parties is just something else and i hope you are incredibly proud of yourself for it.
The Prussian chick really can’t take a rain check eh?
Bizarrely, I’m hoping destitute-MC gets a chance to meet the younger Sharpe soon.
Redgrave feels like bad news all around, so jilted-MC might have dodged a bullet by not getting tied closer to that family, but on the destitute route I’m inclined to be more forgiving of or more curious about the Sharpes. Business is business, after all.
Also going to enjoy denying Linden a spot on fem-MC’s dance card after this. “So you’ll defend a lady against a common cutpurse but not against the cruel machinations of your own domineering ‘allies’? I see.”
Thank you, I think this one of my favourite comments! <3
@R1220 But Lancelot is such a good dancer ![]()
@chrisbat Saying no to a dance in the Regency was considered extremely rude. But there are extenuating circumstances here, especially for Male MC. The Prussian woman was also completely out of line for forcing a dance on him, women were never supposed to ask. For Fem MC saying no is a little hazier, but she was just subjected to a duel challenge. A real ‘gentleman’ would have most probably understood a lady being flustered and upset about this and not pressed the issue.
I was playing aa the male character. It does seem bizarre that my character is apparently so irresistible that "Sorry I’m on my way out the door os not an acceptable answer “
Loved chapter 2, obviously. My spooky earl is Sherlock Holmes as well? +1,000,000 attractiveness points.
Questions for you:
The sporty MC gets a huge advantage when trying to romance Blevins, are there other traits that will give us an advantage with other ROs? An intellectual or horsewoman/horseman for von Kessler? An accomplished dancer or budding politician with Lancelot?
Second question: if my sporty fmc is flirting with Blevins, and he invites us for hanky panky in the equipment room, will we get docked points for denying the request? If we sleep with him does he immediately lose interest? Any chance of a lasting connection with a rake?
My MC didn’t even refuse. His Aunt did.
It’s really just showcasing how absurd the Prussian ambassador and his daughter are, and how the social niceties could trip you up even if you didn’t technically do anything wrong. And also that politics was politics, even back then.
@CSI I have to answer carefully here because I don’t want to spoil stuff. But what I’ll say is yes, there are characters that are more charmed by other talents, but probably not to the degree Blevins is. But also that it may not be that much of an advantage really.
Nobody will be locked out of a romance because of a talent, you just may get different scenes and paths because of it. And yeah, everyone can have a happy ending if they choose to. (Though that ending may not be conventional.)
I think you did a very good job with the ROs. They’re all very intriguing in different ways. I’m looking forward to an update.
I agree! It’s like I enjoy the story but I know something is lurking
Thank you! Appreciate it. The RO’s are a big part of the plot so I’m happy to hear they’re intriguing.
My break is over and I’m back to writing today - but first I have to edit all my mistakes! Thanks for the editing help everyone, I’m going to go through all your posts and try to be meticulous.
I don’t know if it makes me a bad person but moreso than saving Griffith’s sister i want to ruin Calpurnia’s life
Im the opposite, I want to rekindle a relationship with Calpurinia!
Ohh, welcome back!
I’ve been playing this on and off whenever I want a good story (Blevis my adorable golden retriever), and I just finished a playthrough with @GrayCipher ! We had a lot of fun, he especially liked your humour. Meanwhile, this was my first time seeing a male mc perspective. It was really interesting! I must admit I prefer the female route, but that’s more likely my identification bias or my love for Ginerva… either way, we had a ton of fun poking fun at what was happening! ![]()
