@Havenstone Always the one to save the day!

I didn’t write anything yesterday. I doubt I’ll write anything today. Maybe Monday will be better. My brain’s currently not working again, which is so extremely frustrating. It’s become stupid-brain and the only thoughts inside it are so incredibly dull and boring. I have hope Monday will be better.

Thanks for everyone’s support.

I hope your muse gets better soon @Fairygodfeather.

@FairyGodfeather when I get the fuzzy brain I tend to do something lite and fun. It a good habbit to write daily even when its complete rubbish. The brain does not want to work, fime let it do doodles. You may find this useful as it gets my brain kick started.

Take a rest don’t force yourself to write if your not on the mood, relax and have fun eventually that would make you want to write again.

Thanks. I’m feeling slightly better than I was. Still not right.

I want this to be my muse http://oglaf.com/blank-page/
Unfortunately it’s more like this http://oglaf.com/muse/
(Oglaf’s NSFW those two above just have one bared breast and some swearing though).

All I can say is OMG and LOL.

*Edit I always envision my muse as having the beauty and demeanor of a goddess crossed with a wife that never shut the hell up.

If perhaps Ladyirish is reading this, it in no way reflects my thoughts of you dear.

I cannot stop laughing im so sorry i am not laughing at you @FairyGodfeather its just the link just made my day

Oh no, laugh away. I shared the links because I just love that comic’s interpretations of Muses.

@Lordirish ha somebody watching over their shoulder as they type eh?

@Scrivener she is the love of my life, but she sometime misunderstands such comments. Lot less headache if I clarify from time to time

*Edit but to be honest that is the first time in 12 years that shes even been curious what I was posting lol. Talk about timing
Lol

So, I’m creating a pre-selected list of names for the dragons. They will still have their default names, I’m still calling them by said names. The plan is to have nested choices discouraging customisation of the dragon names. So

I’ll admit I strongly dislike the idea of people calling the dragons by other names. It’s weird, they’re my characters and I don’t let you name any of the other NPCs. That said though, it makes sense you can name them, and hopefully that’ll give people a stronger sense of it being their dragon, and being attached to it. So I guess I won’t make the name choices complicated.

Anyway default names are planned to be

Fire Dragon: Sparky! Flame, Cinder, Ember, Blaze, Candle
Water Dragon: Aqua! Dewdrop, Lake, Ocean, Brook, River, Rain
Herb Dragon: Lilac! Lavender, Violet, Pansy, Chive, Foxglove,
Poison Dragon: Swampy! Bogwort, Marshy, Mushroom, Toadstool, Quag,
Song Dragon: Chime! Choir, Cacophony, Melody, Harmony, Symphony, Birdie, Ducky,

But with an option so you can name the dragon yourself. Just if it ends up as Spyro or Toothless, don’t tell me.

Names are listed here so if you have any suggestions that are better than my own, please offer them. They should be thematic for what sort of dragon they are. And I likely won’t use all those mentioned above anyway.

They’re always going to be Sparky, Aqua, Lilac, Swampy, Chime, to me!

Awww! I’m glad to hear that, Trollhunterthethird. They’ll be those names to me too. But I think allowing the customisation will… well honestly it’ll provide a distraction from me actually doing much work on the game. I figure people are going to be annoyed enough that I don’t let them pick their own name.

Well, I do, kind of, but I have a list first, and if you want to choose a non-plant name, all the NPCs will mock you for your silly name. Or well maybe not. I’ve added in a name ceremony, where you pick your name. And Rose decided that Rose was a perfectly appropriate boys name as well as girls, so you might need to have words with him about that.

I’m redoing the beginning just now. On the plus side, I’m actually laughing at some of my old jokes, so that’s good. I’ll refine them a bit though. I just read through the looking after Sparky sequence, and boy does he have attitude. I plan to make it a bit more story-esque, instead of being just a list.

I second trollhunterthethird

The dragons name will stay as Sparky, Aqua, Lilac, Swampy, Chime for me.

Poison dragon name “Toadstool” what is that? food?

Song dragon name Birdie :)) i cannot imagine calling the dragon as Birdie…

Poisonous things that come in swamps. Toadstools.

And Chime does look rather like a bird. She’s the ugly duckling, a dragon with feathers, but stubby brown, ugly baby bird feathers, not bright rainbow coloured ones. I’m sure her adult plumage will be lovely but she’s a long way away from being an adult. Her favourite story is that of the duckling, who one day transformed into a beautiful dragon and ate all those who’d bully her and call her ugly. She’s more baby-seagull, or baby-parrot looking, ugly and awkward, and boy can she yell, as opposed to cute fuzzy duckling.

Admittedly the names I was just brainstorming. I needed more for Song dragon and couldn’t think up anything.

@FairyGodfeather rather
like the names you set forth already and would reject any other.

Hmm…I’m going to suggest Catnip as one of Lilac’s alternate names. Some varieties of catnip bloom purple too.

Screech, Screamo and Pitch seem to be fitting names for song dragons.

@P_Tigras I can’t use Catnip as the name. Or at least I don’t want to. It might get a little confusing, since I’m using the name for the herb as something of a plot point.

@DSeg Oh those are interesting. When you say Screech though I think of Saved by the Bell. But they are good suggestions. Maybe Shriek.
