Not quite! This is not important, but I’m not sure if many people know about it: by choosing certain names in Book One, you get small stat bonuses.
These bonuses are, of course, unimportant and won’t really affect your game - but they’re a delightful little addition, and include a lovely hidden message from the author, along with custom nicknames for most of them! Details here:

I’m sure plenty of people encountered these by accident already - as people mentioned above, gotta be a lot of ‘Mugen’ and ‘Jin’ ronins knocking about. Extra little things like this, though - really shows the Author’s love and passion for their own work. I know it’s not a new thing, but damn me I’m impressed every time.
To complete the Mugen and Jin trio above… I’ve just played the trilogy through as Fuu. Man, it is hard to be a friendly, peaceful ronin!
