Okay I’ll admit I haven’t played the demo. Since none of the pre-created characters were like my MC, both regarding personality and actions they did in the game. but if there is a scene like that in the game I really hope it’s optional!
(or at least giving me a very good reason why, because so far my MC would rather just grab her four misfits and run far far away from Jun.)

I’ll probably romance Toshio If Hatch isn’t an option. But I kind of find him boring though, so I hope that will change.
Hatch is definitely my favorite character. Aside from my own character. xD
Finally got a chance to play the demo. (And it’s 2:00 in the morning now, but I don’t care.) It felt wrong not to be playing with my actual MC, to be honest, but other than that it was nice. I’m still hoping for a Toshio romance somewhere down the line, though he hardly made an appearance in the demo.

I agree with that. It just makes me wonder if Jun/Junko was always a murderous psychopath or did something happen to cause this. It seems to me that he/she obviously had feelings for the MC at one point.
But was Jun/Junko always like that? Or did things change and it effected him/her in a way that he/she became a monster? As Illmaster mentioned, a flash back would help to answer this.
And to be honest, I always go for the bad guys/bad boy type characters. Even if they’re as crazy as Jun/Junko.

I think Jun/Junko was pretty much the same the MC used to be (and I suppose you could call that murderous psycopath) . If I remember correctly I think it is mentioned that the MC betrayed her at some point, maybe tried to kill her even, what could have made her all the more vicious. And maybe a bit of guilt over that might be in part what made the MC start to change?
All I said is with the first book in mind as I have not played the demo yet.
Well I don’t want to spoil anything for you even if it’s small (so don’t read past this point if you don’t want to), but the MC stated that “In our master’s last days, when he had still been lucid enough for speech, he had bestowed me the samurai’s ultimate gift—his katana.” Does this mean their master became corrupted because of the Jigoku or was he more on the evil side to begin with? I think the MC realised this and put a stop to it, but not before the damage was already done to the MC and Jun/Junko. Maybe Jun/Junko was pushed over the edge more than the MC was.

The Chapter 5 title gets me pretty excited, I’ll be honest. Probably irrationally so, but I’ll own up to it like an adult. Hopefully it’s not intentionally misleading. If that’s the case, I’ll probably shed some manly tears.

I think Masami will get a magic age up. It seems to me like either her healing magic will age her up or she might do something reckless to age herself up because she feels like a burden. There’s the issue of mental age, however…
Finished this demo a while ago, god knows my first playthrough romance will be junko if its allowed, then probably Toshie

He/she seems to be rather mature, if (very) sheltered a lot of the time though. My canon mc still won’t romance them, but if they are aged up I don’t know if I could totally resist the temptation to have a go at Masashi.

I enjoy playing the sequel and my favourite moment was learning and playing the game of Japanese chess (Shogi), I also like the symbolism of the masks, I hope this series continues until maybe Book 4. I also like how Momoko is friendly to the MC.

I was under the impression that Jun’s madness stems from using the Jigoku-ryuu style too much, and probably twisted their feelings about the MC.
If we tried to pacify Jun by saying “I can only ever love you”,
The ronin brought his free hand against his face. He spoke into his palm with a muffled reply. One he didn’t want me to hear. Jun’s eyes went from gold to amber to brown, before turning back again. When he removed his hand only a devilish smirk remained.
There is a possibility that he can still return to the state before they fell into madness.
While I am very certain Toshio is an RO (Choosing gender and their body build seemed to me more than just a boost in chivalrous or perverted), I had never considered Hatch or Momoka before the 2nd Game, so this will be interesting.

@H2O - might want to use spoiler tags for direct quotes. I already read that so no biggy for me but for others not so much.

I could actually see Masashi/Masami doing exactly that he/she does say something like that in Book 1 when you met their aged-up version in the spirit world. Something like "they just want to grow up fast and…"about here they trailed off iirc. They actually have a lot of different motivation which could influence them into doing that.
- They feel like a burden.
- They are aware that they are less powerful and both younger and more inexperienced than the MC.
- (se above point) Maybe “if they age themselves up” the MC wont see them as a kid
- The above could be further influenced by them having a crush on the MC, which seems to be the case.
Overall it seems to me that no matter if Masashi/Masami’s feelings towards the MC is romantic or not, they care, respect and look up to the MC a great deal (not that they’ll admit it). So they want to grow up fast, so that they (in Masashi/Masami’s eyes) can be more equal to the MC.
Even if that’s what the MC (in my case) want the least…my MC is going to be so upset with Masashi/Masami if they pull a magical age-up number.

Does anyone remember if Masami actually stated her age?
While I can see her magically aging herself, it would be equally amusing for her to go around parroting a birthday conveniently putting her at an acceptable age for romantic pursuits.
Sorry, it seemed appropriate.

Iirc then nowhere is it stated their actual age. I haven’t tried to pick the option in Book 1 to pretend to be lovers, but with siblings it’s “not impossible”, so my personal guess is that Masashi/Masami is around 8-12 years younger than the MC. I don’t think the MC’s age is stated outright with numbers. But my guess is early-mid twenties. Which puts Masashi/Masami in the age range of 13-15 y.o and the MC between 23-25. Or at least that’s my guess.
