Rise of Etrea: The Royal Spy, Updated 1/4/20

I love the sarcastic mc personality. For me, it really rare to see one! Good job! And I love the way my mc call the prince ‘pup’. So cute lol. Oh and yea. The knight is now my favorite baby now.

Fantastic update! I gotta say I enjoy the intimidating MC and the sarcastic the most. Actually…nah I like em all. For some reason I really love that nickname for the royal. Pup. Very cute! Anyway I’m glad to see this was updated. Stay Coo!

It’s a new WIP (and a first work) so the pacing being kind of wack, is understandable. Wasn’t something jarring to me but that’s something that can be worked later.
The amount of background Lore is pretty nice too.
Already liked and bookmarked, keeping a eye on this one as well!

An option to not not be comfortable with someone meddling with your mind more than necessary, even if it is just to stop you from dreaming, would be a good addition.

Love this choice: “Deadly focus takes over.” 36UVFP

Why hasn’t the title changed the update time ?

That was a bug, or at least a formatting issue on my part, I switched writing programs and in the process the original formatting didn’t keep. But you are right, I did let Alistair’s personality outshine her own in the first introductory scenes. I’m going to work to fix it so that the player can form a better initial impression of her at their first meeting. Thank you for your input!

That’s a good point! I’ll be sure to make a note of it to add in.

very interesting setting. protagonist as a villain(or reluctant villain).
is there any plan to include stat skill check like swordmanship or magic proficiency?

Not to be dramatic but I’d die for Pup. He’s too wholesome

I agree, before meeting them i intended to fulfill the duty but, they are so innocent and naive i just want to protect them

Maybe it is just the flow of how the demo reads so far to me, but with the exception of the sibling character who is trying their best regardless of their role in Etrea, I haven’t been too invested in the royal family’s affairs, or world-conquering agenda at all.

Naturally, this means I’m gonna try to betray my nation, but as far as the family element in all this goes…unless they’re captured and executed by those who were negatively impacted by Etrea’s espionage, I’m fairly certain they’ll be just fine whether I’m a traitor, or not. They’ll just be a bit more boxed in as a “closed off” nation with everyone else watching them on high alert to the threat they pose. :slightly_smiling_face:

Man, I can’t wait until we can have the princess fall in love with us, and then kill her when she least expects it. I can’t express just how much I’m looking forward to it. It’s gonna be great.

I imagine your parents fate (if you betray them) largely depends on what they did to the prince/princess’s parents.

Also, I would not want to be in the shoes of an MC in that situation who fell in love with the prince/princess.

MC: “Yes, I knew about the attack before it happened, and yes my parents had your parents killed and I didn’t do anything to prevent it, but have I told you how good you look today?”

Eek, for some reason I just don’t see that working.

Having fun playing the update! I lowkey feel bad for the Prince/Princess. They sure seem like a good person. Still, I am having a fun time trying to manipulate them… The other ROs are also promising. Ritar/Eirina… I care about them a lot. I look forward to the next update! xx

Some typos I noticed. I hope I don't come across as nitpicking everything.

Just as well my own MC doesn’t have any interest in them like that. :slightly_smiling_face:

Being a sincere protective guardian in the meanwhile is about all that can be done. Those questions are certainly inevitable, but very naive on the part of the young prince/ss; just what could the MC have said of a tiny nation that was closed off for the better part of decade/centuries to the wider world?

Unfortunately, even if the MC had said something, it’s likely there is no way that anyone with any level of useful influence would believe them before it was too late. To win against your own people with the fewest casualties would take a greater degree of planning/patience than jumping the gun before you know for sure who’s on your side as far as stopping Etrea goes.
