@port Just type a comment and it marks all as read.

@Mardam thanks for the advice I’m tired to scroll up and down

That is very smart to do… Like i can just do this

Hey is there gonna a be a change to betrayal the emperos?

yes @Kitty @CS_Closet always said that

What gen iOS are you on? I know a way to get a ctrl+f function.

in iOS 4.3 i got IPhone 3

Are we going to get any reaver powers soon?

@MaraJade Why must the empire be dark? Why is it that people be so quick to link empires as bad? Empires bring order,unity,lawfulness,and peace(even if through force).

And I agree with Wyrmspawn kinda. But I think that balance is key. So a combo of the sword,pen, and tongue is BEST. Mara’s preference is being a wimpy, backstabbing, treacherousness, conniving, poison(cant forget the poison :wink: ) using character, which is based upon her reasoning that she willn’t need to fight(if she does, she thinks poison will save her) which is in itself naive and dangerous to her being. Now from what i gather Wyrmspawn plays a brutishness, (cruel?) warrior who prefers senseless violence to talking it over, am I correct? You both play to opposite extremes if I am that is. Now my preference is a more moderate one, which I love. I prefer to play as the Hero warrior knight type. My characters are honorable and trustworthy but they are as clever as silver tongued diplomats and clairvoyancent strategists/leaders; they enjoy a good fight but will avoid senseless violence and cruelty; they gain the love of the people because they know that a person will more often than not fight for something they love rather than something they hate. So all in all hero perfectly describes my characters.

Pffft… Who needs balance? I mean really, I would prefer to have a Sharp-Tongued but inspiring character. Sort of like a Bard, But with more of a ‘tart’ personality. And if people blackmail me, I pay vengeance on them. Then I do the deeds they wanted me to do, to teach them a life lesson.
Such as, “If you want something badly, you must sacrifice things dear to you.” I try to balance my goods and bads. So uh, yeah. I destroy precious things if they Blackmail me, and then I do the quest the person wanted me to do earlier. Think of it like Neutrality. Also, my character likes to Gamble with the odds. :smiley:

Well Cloudian, who is saying that empires are inherently bad? There are people who side with the empire in star wars over those lying jedi.

Cloudian while being as completely well rounded and full circle as this hero class you like is a good idea, it probably won’t be possible to have all the stats as high and equal as your describing. The current class choices are perfect examples of that. There will be sacrifices in certain areas you have to make to gain in others. You may have to choose over being more of a wimpy silver tounged professor or a Brutish, violent warrior. It’s rather naive in itself to think you will be able to be so completely well balanced. If we could have such perfect stats, why wouldn’t everyone do so instead of leaning one way or the other?

i dont say empíres are inherently bad @Cloudian only joking with a star wars reference I love star wars empire.
And I hate middle ground characters in rpg games like knights are good characters but no my character style bards rogues/archers bad/chaos caracters but they have to be a high persuasion skill to be my character

@Syndicate I see your point, but in many games I have played its been possible(dragon age origins). Though I am not saying all the stats are balanced with each other just some of them that I been described. Like for instance, I tend to forgo roguish skills/stats except lockpicking if its an option. To answer your question, players pick classes, and to maximize that classes potential and usefulness in its area players only work on stats that benefit that class, for an example: healers, you don’t work on a healers combat skills/stats; another example would be a tank character. But I do realize that in alot of the choicescript games balancing stats at a decently even high-ish level is pretty hard. But people have different preferences of playing style, for example Mara, she likes to play as a boss manipulator, with a wide arsenal of poison lol.

@stsword Mara said(jokingly) come “surrender to the empire rebel scum. You know dark side is more powerful and quick join the dark side” which implies starwars empire bad which it is.( and the jedi are not “lyiers” ) Who said empires are bad, well media, people i have heard say it in rl, and somewhat even history books.

@Cloudian
True, true.
I see what you meant now. I agree with your point about player classes. I thought you were just going for some kind of god character that’s perfect at everything. Sorry for misinterpreting. :-bd

There’s no reason why your character couldn’t be fairly balanced. It gives them some versatility and allows more options on how they can reasonably handle a choice, although those options would likely to have a lower chance of success than those of a specialist character.

And don’t think that you have to limit your character by their “class”. It’s true that they have the advantage of certain initial stat boosts and, in some cases, special abilities, but they can put forth the effort to learn other skills if they should choose to. Just look at @Wyrmspawn’s soldier build with 23 intelligence. That’s a decently high score that can certainly pass some of the basic intelligence checks, not to mention the checks that involve your combined combat and intelligence stats. Even though your character may start off learning something very slowly, that doesn’t mean they can’t become decent at it.

All of that aside, having a character with high stats isn’t the only way to go through the game. NPCs will be able to make up for your weaknesses, or enhance your strengths, or even solve entire problems for you if you play your cards right. Sometimes your reputation will give you an edge. The Sage’s abilities should be able to fix a lot of problems as well, if I can ever get that system working right. A lot of things might depend on your inspiring/oppressive score.

Really, I’ve tried to make it so that your stats are more or less intuitive. You know what your character has been working on and how they’ve generally been behaving. You don’t need to go back to your stats screen to keep a close eye on those stats every other page (although I am extremely interested in how stat-grinding playthroughs work out). The goal is to play your character the way you want without having to worry about the game punishing you too much for it (outside of the storyline consequences, anyway).

As for empires having the connotation of being evil; I disagree with that viewpoint, but I was absolutely counting on people having it. For the most part, empires seek to unite or expand (I think). Sometimes they don’t use the best methods, but there’s usually a goal other than to be malicious. I could be wrong, though. My knowledge of history isn’t the best.

Sorry for the long babbling rants I tend to get into. When it comes to game design and mechanics, I really can’t help it. :-S

Edit:
@Kronos
What makes you think Reavers have any special abilities (besides the ones they naturally had before they became Reavers)?

I love playing as the artist the sage and the elf the sage and the elf mostly tho

I love the fate sage most but elf is my second favorite :smiley:

If you don’t think the jedi lied to Luke Skywalker you need to watch those movies again. “It was true in a manner of speaking,” yes in the way of bald faced liars.
