Warrants aren’t required when someone’s life is believed to be in danger.

I really cannot answer that question. Perhaps in some countries this rule does not apply.

Basically it is the same as in the movies. We are making stuff up and improvise in order to make stuff cool! And personally I am OK with it.

A tangent to this one is one that crops up c o n t i n u o u s l y on that show Elementary. Homes and Watson are forever breaking in to houses, and businesses, ignoring the rules of evidence, and…you know… basic human rights, and they hand wave it all away by saying “We’re not police officers. We’re consultants working for the NYPD.” As if the police can just hire people to break all the rules for them and then still use the evidence in a trial.

You’re completely missing the point of this thread and you’re being kinda rude. This is for things that are shown in media that annoy the people who have experience with what’s being portrayed. We know that some inaccuracies are for convenience.
