This is starting to sound kind of combative. Come on man just play something actually related to metal if that’s the music you love, Press Play is not what this is and it’s never gonna be. I don’t like metal, I’m not passionate about it and I’m not gonna write it.

The “would probably be a better ending than we are going to get” is a dick move to say especially with the author here. Besides, the majority of Press Play is a flashback with the events already outlined.
If you want your MC to join a Nu Metal/Heavy Metal band post-band break-up, feel free to write a self-indulgent fic about it instead or find another game that scratches that itch for you.

Also I just feel that I gotta say: I don’t like metal but I do like some songs by Castle Rat. Just to be entirely fair to the genre. Also my SO is a metalhead and they tried to drip feed me some metal at the beginning of our relationship and they showed me some agreeable stuff. But overall it’s simply not for me.

MC and band will be one of the biggest pop and cultural phenomena of the alternate 21st century so their music is gonna be covered a ton, officially and not, and someone somewhere in the alternate universe is almost certainly going to attempt a heavy metal cover of Moonstruck sometime.

I like most genre’s of music, my Heavy metal enjoyment though stems from the 70’s and 80’s. Old school Metallica for example, Ozzy of course, but then again i also love bands like Foreigner, Air Supply and Duran Duran. My tastes run so eclectic it is not funny.
