As an autistic person, with severe anxiety and a great love of singing, I don’t think I’ve ever felt a stronger kinship with an MC, than the one I can make in this game.
In a way, they’re, like, the alternative and slightly less functional and overly-aware version of myself, that I have spent so much energy all my life trying not to be, while in some ways wishing I could just be.
I love leaning into their strangeness, and their autistic traits, and see the people around them still love them (Or most, at least. I did give my poor MC the uncaring parents)
Damn that was a good update, still see a few spelling errors every now and then, otherwise it was pretty damn peak. Always leaving us off on cliff hangers though, I suppose we get to see what those Highschool friends that we met after cutting contact with Zima we’re like.
I mean, in my case, mc was a teenage boy himself back then and teenage boys can often be little shits even without really meaning to add to that my mc is also likely somewhat autistic and may not always have the best or most sensitive grasp of other’s emotions, and his own for that matter.
So, long story short could Zima have perceived the mc at that time as being a jerkass and dumping him to boot in a really insensitive way? Certainly. Did mc mean to be a jerkass, in the case of mine certainly not. Could he have been a little more tactful and sensitive about how he went about cutting off contact with Zima and ending the relationship with his first love? Maybe if he had been more mature with a better grasp of his own and other’s emotions back then.
But Zima also never stopped to think that maybe that is true for mc as well and expecting a great level of maturity, tact and grace from the teenage boy my mc was back then was certainly a bridge too far.
I mean it is pretty much of my own headcanon now too and I do like how the oblivious to a lot of things the mc can be.
Yep that is a fun part of the story. Honestly, head canon I don’t think my mc even truly realized he is actually extremely good-looking until after Stevie explicitly spelled that out for him……..repeatedly most likely during their college years. It’s one of the reasons Lin is good for my mc because Lin at least makes it really obvious which in turn makes it so much easier for my mc to notice and Leland is the other way around with my mc being the bold one for the first time in his life but fortunately for mc Leland doesn’t take offense at mc’s a bit too forward indication of interest ( I mean, no innuendo mc pretty much spelled out what he’d like to do in the backseat of Leland’s car, not a shred of tact or subtlety).
Sadly I will have to play the update during the weekend…………..so much prep and paperwork this week.
This is one of my fave parts too, especially when I obliviously crush on angel and Stevie reacts (always graciously in her Stevie way). Ugh, ofc my mc doesn’t notice, but as the reader I so empathize with Stevie lol. These little things make the group dynamic and the individual characters feel so layered, it’s wonderful.
I think if you spent Halloween alone with Stevie and slept with her then, you have the option of entering a relationship with her in the new chapter. I’m unsure whether you need the New Years Kiss too, but I think it’s better to err on the side of.caution and kiss her then.
Awesome update with, as always, a mean little cliffhanger. Yay! Lin joined the team! And we find out the mc can, in fact, drive. Hope this is a sign mc is ready to finally work through and then leave behind whatever minor trauma stopped them from driving in Portland? Also like Lin’s bdsm scene and, yes, I could see my mc getting into that and playing with Lin. And my mc also isn’t opposed to playing the more dominant roles most of the time.
Ooh and since mc still needs to make a more mainstream marketable love song for the album can we get the option for mc to make a banger of a song possibly inspired by his date with Leland with a slightly bittersweet end? Would feel like good way for my mc to get that out of his system and I’m sure Leland will at least chuckle when he hears it too. And of course for gay mc’s like mine it would also ride a bit on the love dagger gaypop wave, that is an absolutely awesome thing in the alternate history of the gamewordl but with a bit more of a rock edge to it.
I’m more interested in featuring them in the Olympics Opening Ceremony, actually. That’s something that’ll definitely happen eventually. It’ll be crazy

Yeah I hear ya but in the ‘24 Olympics in Paris, American musicians opened, too. Like Lady Gaga and Celine Dion. Viewership is higher, with 2 billion per summer/winter games as opposed to the 100-something million of the Superbowl. I like to imagine the band as internationally popular, and that oughta drive that point home.
Also, my European might be showing here but I just… I just don’t like football.

It’s just that tbh, we take it for granted that our boys and girls dominate the field so to us it’s the Super Bowl that matters.
Maybe if we gave a shit about Football (yours) and had five wins we’d care more.

No one gets a month long vacation here. I mean I wish but no. I’ve been to multiple countries belonging to the EU besides my own and it pains me to say there’s nothing like that please what do you mean???
