You miss spelled the beast within happens to the best of us

@Nazroth Brilliant. Creativity 100.

I really have to go now. See you tomorrow :sparkles:

Gosh, we’re only one behind :astonished: this really is a race of constant twists and surprises :open_mouth:

I’m a Termite Squid Snow Leopard! :ant::squid::snowflake::leopard:
(Okay, ants are actually really not closely related to termites at all, but there wasn’t a better emoji.)

I belong in the parrot guy’s harem… :blush:

I expect they pant :thinking:

You might want to check this one out then, seems very promising to me especially since it seems like this one would also feature some more lighthearted or outright comedic episodes.

I really wasn’t expecting to come back from work with 150+ comments.

But neither was I expecting this many voters, comments, or interested parties.

To be honest, even if The Beast Within doesn’t quite win, I’m very impressed that we managed to get such a good showing :blush: I really hadn’t expected a specifically gay-themed game to get so much turnout in a poll, and I’m really happy to see how much energy and votes we got together :hugs:

Got to be honest I am extremely split between On the Hunt and United as the possibility of being a Deadpool like hero or a near replica of the Winchester brothers is a tough call but I’ve got to vote for the monster hunters as that is a genre of writing that needs to be written. Best of luck mate and I hope you write all of these in the future

I mean, United is my first choice as well, but it’s unlikely to win.

@forest I’ve voted, buuuttt not for that one, sorry.

i don’t see the point of rescuing a spouse that I don’t care for? Just to tell them I don’t like them like that… Seems a bit ridiculous

Posted back near the beginning…

How about now when it has 444 votes and there’s still only a few votes’ difference? :dizzy_face:

Well, because rescuing people is nice? :worried: The betrothed doesn’t deserve to be kidnapped by an evil necromancer so leaving them to their fate is mean. I really like the idea of rescuing someone being separate from wanting to marry them, because why should they have to go together? :confused:

It does seem a bit anti-climatic though, you’d expect it to be some happily ever after marriage ending after you save them o.o

Besides, if you don’t love them why would you even go save them? You’re the heir of the throne, not some knight. Why would the heir endanger themselves instead of sending soldiers to do the job? Would your parents even approve of that?

Nice doesn’t seem much of an incentive if the established relationship is “i don’t want to marry you btw”. Why would it be my job to save them?

Edit: I think this plot needs to have a better incentive towards rescuing someone. At this moment, it doesn’t seem to have one. (Which is fair since it is a WIP).

@Frogs explained it pretty well.

Keep in mind that this is also supposed to be more lighthearted game. But maybe the kingdom/empire the betrothed comes from is much more militarily powerful and their parents crazy enough to raze the mc’s kingdom to the ground if anything happens to their precious son/daughter. Though that would already make the tone much darker.

Like TSSL said maybe the mc does it because they’re a royal and a hero or alternatively it going on a rescue may be nice way to escape stuffy and over-regulated court life for a while. I really wouldn’t want the tone of this one to become too dark. Heh, this seems to be the one time I actually share @TSSL 's preference for unicorns :unicorn: sunshine :sun_with_face: and rainbows :rainbow: .

Lightheartedness is fine. But in general there is little to no incentive other than “I’m gonna save you cause I’m nice”. You can have lightheartedness and yet have a good insentive for a character to preform an action.

Escaping stuffy court life could be one and it is also lighthearted enough. Or if you want to go classic fairytale then maybe either the evil necromancer or the betrothed’s fairy godmother cursed the mc with something that’ll get more serious over time (so it won’t hinder the mc’s adventuring in the short to mid term) but would become unpleasant if they wait too long unless they slay the Necromancer or rescue the betrothed.

I think it would be more fitting if some knight rescued your betrothed and they’d fall in love and marry them instead. This way you could easily cancel the wedding without any explaining to do, and get to do whatever you want.

I think there could be a few different options for motivation—it’s often useful in a choicescript thing to make it so, even if there’s something you have to do for the plot to work, you can choose why the MC does it. So it could be out of a sense of duty or a desire for escape… and it could also be because you like your betrothed—you could very well be friends and just not want to marry due to being gay—or could also be because, hey, this is a scary necromancer who might destroy your kingdom whom you need to stop anyway, and rescuing the betrothed is just a bonus.

True, those could work. But the summary didn’t seem like the plot was as well thought out as the others.
Hence, me not choosing it. I’m not gonna choose a lgbt plot simple cause I’m lesbian.

Regardless, it’s up to the polls to see what story wins

I wonder if you could go for an evil path and ask the Necromancer to teach you their magic :stuck_out_tongue:

You can choose to go out of a sense of duty, or kindness. If you don’t want to go, your father will basically say “We’re bankrupt, we need our kingdoms to be allies for monetary support, and our morale is low, you need to get them.” You can get them because you’re friends. Heck, you can even still marry them for show if you want, if your friendship is high enough with them.

On The Hunt has the least amount of plot produced right now. The idea is only a few weeks old.

The Beast Within is the oldest.
