Thank you for your inclusion! I identify as cisgender female. She/her pronouns.
That said, I’m a huge fan of imperial harem novels and dramas. I’ve watched Empresses in the Palace, Ruyi’s palace love, Empress of China, etc. I’ve read so many different harem intrigue novels I can’t make them all, some with a female main character, some with male main characters (omegaverse isn’t as heavy in that one, which is weird.)
I just really love the setting. (I’m also a fan of wuxia and xianxia)
That said, this specific storyline was born when I got really really mad at the Story of Yanxi Palace for how my otp was treated in that story. That is to say, my couple was relegated to her going with someone else and him going insane and becoming her enemy. I was mad.
So I was gonna write an au fanfic to fix it. And by the time I was done outlining I realized I had a novel here. And then I lost my job and realized I had the time to put towards game development, and found choicescript, which I took to like a duck to water.
And that’s how it came about.

you should watch the legend of fuyao
i wish someone make an IF with a story like that. POMA is the most similar with it but the huaxia political lore is still subtle from what i played.

Yes. And from what I saw, the current demo version also ends shortly after that scene. So we have to wait for the update. But I think it will help Niki if you also put a screenshot of your error.

An update for the New Year!
Progress on my 2024 goals
- Complete Phoenix Rising - No where NEAR. Same as last year, really. Still working on the first chapter. At this rate, this is gonna take me 40 years.
- Begin Editing Phoenix Rising - It’s laughing at me.
- Participate in at least 1 game jam - I’m beginning to think this is a pipe dream for me…
- Complete at least 1 game jam - definitely thinking this is a pipe dream.
- Learn Spanish enough to be able to use it at work (earn a $2 raise by doing this) - I have officially stopped doing this. I tell myself it’s because ‘duolingo is doing the wrong thing by using AI, so I’m boycotting’, but that doesn’t change that I’ve given up.
December’s Goals
- Finish Chapter One of Phoenix Rising - I’ve finished the daydream section. As of right now, I have two rounds of edits, two rounds of bugfixing, and then uploading the new demo. After that I have more story to finish before I can say the first chapter is finished.
- Get posts on the Nascent Souls Tumblr up to end of november. - My posts are out to February at this time!
- Get the game to a point where I can ACTUALLY POST AN UPDATED DEMO, GODDAMMIT. – I’m closer than I’ve ever been.
- Bonus at work. - Didn’t bonus this month. Nothing to do about it.
- Keep up with my Accountabili-Buddies so that we all make progress on our games. @RascaldeesV2 @Phenrex @eveelution @levviathan@Suyin @Eiwynn . Also looking for more accounta-bilibuddies too! Apply now!
For those asking… I don’t think I’m ever going to remove Eiwynn from my list. She was on it when she left us, and she’ll be on it until I do. It’s a sign of respect.

Quick update for everyone:
My laptop recently decided to give up the ghost. While I’ve gotten a replacement computer, the problem is that apperantly, my setup that was supposed to be updating GitHub with my current versions of the files every day DID NOT IN FACT DO THIS DESPITE NY REGULARLY NAMING AND PUSHING THESE UPDATES. which means, until I can get a SSD converter, I only have VERY, VERY early versions of these files. So early in fact that they are less than 200 lines of code. Earlier even than the demos I put up.
So as you can understand this is distressing, and will be putting my timetable out to pasture. I am sincerely sorry for the further delay.

All three links to the Demo do not work as Dashingdon has ceased operation. The MoodyInk might work, but it has so-far only resulted in a perpetual loading screen for me.

Thank you for letting me know. Until I get a version of the game files up and working that is playable, the demos are down for the time being. My apologies for the delay. I’ll be trying to get them up and running as soon as I can, but between my full time job and my computer issues, this might be a bit of time. Please be patient.
