Thanks, @Bagelthief!

Something @Bagelthief said reminded me of something I forgot to mention. I chose to smooch Chevalier rather than go all the way with him after the club because there was no way I was going to let their first time be a drunken stumble. I feel like… there wasn’t really a follow-up to that. I was waiting on it and it didn’t come. There wasn’t the intimate reward of not diving in right off the bat.

That’s not something I had considered - however, it’s definitely something that does stick out as a bit of a irregularity.

It’s good stuff seeing things I just didn’t really consider but would be neat little things to slot in in a quick patch.

I feel the game needs more surroundings descriptions (of the city and whatnot), because as it is it’s hard to imagine the world game takes place in. Another thing is disconnection between romances and ending. I got achievement for ending the game with Al-Jinn romanced, yet her epilogue made it seem as if she left me (and rest of the team for that matter) and didn’t acknowledge the romance at all. Aside from that I enjoyed it the game most out of all superhero games (probably because I hate superhero stuff, but love military stuff and your game had some of the second).

@Sneaks

Like Bagelthief says, Brawn and Power are the two big stats for that sequence.

For more detail: You need a certain amount of Power. High Brawn allows you to go for a second wind that makes the check easier.

Readher - thanks for that, additional coverage for the romances seems to be a common theme! I’ll be happy to oblige!

I can only ever get Power up to 2 tho…

You just gotta like, not use your powers. They build up if you don’t use them.

Really? I kept using them and I got up to 6 by the end, I think.

…

well fuck me then. ignore me!

Yes, your powers increase the more you use them, generally speaking!

Adding a scene at school explaining that would help clarify I think. I didnt notice that until too late.

Also whats that stat check for the final battle? I had

3 brawn
2 smart
2 social
3 power

And still lost using brawn options?

If you need more than 3 points in a stat I feel like streassing the need to be well rounded at the start is misleading.

I think you need at least one specialized stat to rely on. I had a 6 in power at the end and it still seemed barely enough to overcome the last battle.

I’ll juggle the numbers of the final battle, I think.

It’s one of those elements of design philosophy that I never find a stable position on, where I find a happy level of where I am letting player’s choices near the beginning lock them out of things throughout the game.

@Shockbolt, those are some good points. As far as the Power stat goes, powers scaling with usage and confidence runs counter to what Capetown actually teaches its students - I’ll need to figure out a way to slip in that sort of idea earlier in the narrative…

I’m working on a patch as we speak and hope to have the build updated to address some of the feedback I’ve received by the end of the week!

I think that might be due to the repetitive nature of the final battle, and so you have to go through about four separate (almost identical) checks to win (I had 4’s in brawn and power, and it also felt barely enough to win).

@Bagelthief, @ParrotWatcher, and others who would be interested in a NB option…

Would you - meaning interested players in general - prefer to set your own pronouns or be provided a list to choose from (Eg: spivak, ze, etc)?

Well, I’m not really (for myself, at least); I just think it makes sense to be as inclusive as possible (something CoG/HG is very good for).

Setting your own pronouns is always good with the prelevance of neopronouns, but you’ve got to be clear which word is used where, or give an example.

The generally accepted and most common title is Mx. instead of Miss or Mrs. or Mr. The most popular pronouns seem to be singular they, ze, and xe, overall.

One of my closest friends prefers to use the singular they/them/their pronouns. @Bagelthief mentioned the other prominent ones.
