Don’t mind me writing this down, keep talking
It’s just the start.
Getting a license can be seen as an investment, you’ll have to trade off other things but the reard it brings will be worth it in the long run! Or at least that’s what I hope.
@WallyWorld And are 99% guaranteed to be paid the amount you were promised.
Meanwhile in dirty jobs the reward may be cut or straight up non-existent!
Yeah the jobs you get while licensed will generally pay more
Btw I’ve another question.
The things that we can buy in the game (like the uniforms and armor) will eventually require you to pay credits for maintaining them depending on how expensive they were to begin with?
There will be some maintenance costs (for things like paying your employees, renting space for your company headquarters, and restocking equipment), but as of right now I’m not decided on how exactly it’s going to break down. I think it would make sense for it to work that way, but I’m going to rely on y’all to give me feedback to see whether it’s too hard/easy
Your writing style is honestly really entertaining and engaging – I’m not afraid to admit I was bummed things ended so soon. Keep up the good work.
Also, I have to ask, how large can our company be? Will we be able to expand to the point of becoming a sort of pseudo nation-state for hire, Diamond Dogs style? Or will we stay as a smaller, more tight-knit group?
Thanks! I really appreciate that, it helps keep me motivated to write.
The company will be able to get quite large, able to commit thousands of mercenaries to a single conflict. You will keep a tight-knit core group around Vellis and Garron, and this is the group you will be playing in during contracts. However, in the company management sections you’ll be deploying troops to various less interesting contracts and wider scale operations
Finally have te to read it snd I love it. very different from what I’ve seen in other games so far and has a concrete beginning.
I’m only about 1/6 of the way through writing the gala job and already at 8.9k words so… chapter 1 will definitely be much longer than the 16k I initially expected haha
Will you add ROs
I don’t have any currently planned out, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be included. Right now I’m focusing on getting the core gameplay and main story set up well. After that I’ll start thinking about things like ROs and more of the interpersonal relationships
Hey everyone, little update on my progress and upcoming May goals:
Chapter 1 will not be out for at least another month. It’s taking me a lot longer to write than I had initially planned, but it’s for all the right reasons. I’m really happy with just how dynamic the gala scene is going and I think you guys are really going to enjoy it.
Right now, there are 5 different ways this scene can end with additional variables on top of that. And that’s only for the path where you are the plainclothes operative, I haven’t written the scenes for Vellis or Garron taking that role yet.
My goal for May is to finish the gala scene completely. I’m really going to push to get the entirety of Chapter 1 out by the end of the month, but I don’t think it’s doable for how much content I need to get through.
Now all that being said, would y’all want me to release the gala scene on its own once I finish it or would you prefer I wait until all of Chapter 1 is done and release it together?
- Release gala scene once its finished
- Wait and release all of Chapter 1 at the same time
Game mentions something about docking access levels, such as docking rights to F-level stations.
How does this whole docking access system works and how do better docking station levels improve things for you?
As of right now it’s just a little bit of flavor text and worldbuilding. I’m not sure how granular I’m going to get there, or if maybe I’ll bundle a lot of that together under a general “conditions” variable that gets an idea of how luxurious your quarters/common areas/docking areas are
Do we have a option for civilian clothes
Not right now, but that’s a pretty easy addition to make! I’ll take a look at where I can fit that in. Were there any particular options you were looking for?
Just finished the demo, and holy. I feel like this will turn out real good, and I’ll be looking forward to how it develops.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed!
Any normal clothes
Sorry it took so long to respond I was busy moving
Do you mean normal clothes while you’re off-duty or do you want to wear normal clothes as your “company uniform”, so to speak?
