Ooh but how far will that jealousy extend? Like, “I’m willing to murder you because I’m fixiated on father’s love and blind to the fact that he will hate me for it” jealously or “you hoe, I used to have all the attention” jealousy?
No, him being a high functioning sociopath would mean he is a full-blown one, and that’s not the case. He does have several sociopathic tendencies, but it’s not the same.
Being an actual sociopath would make him a really different character from who he currently is, and much better at hiding it. While Adonis does have several behaviours and attitudes characteristic of a sociopath, elsewhere/in other circumstances/with certain people he may seem (and even be!) sincere and have the ability to conduct himself as someone akin to a neurotypical person and/or make an effort to show restraint of said tendencies.
An example would be Lawren.
Adonis has always had an awful reputation anywhere he went; he was callous and impulsive and prone to violence, shameless, unremorseful and (rumored to be) incapable of truly feeling anything; the only good thing about him was his face. When he trained in The Borders he was a fiend, and a lot of the other recruits dreaded him, as he was almost bloodthirsty and did not shy away from harming his siblings in arms. Mind you, this is a very simple explanation and not everyone who has sociopathic tendencies behaves this way, but Adonis was someone to be extremely wary of, both because of his nature and his upbringing.
But when he was with Lawren he was a different man. Not a better one, as Adonis has, and still does, struggle with morals and what’s right (as an adult he has a really, really basic understanding of it) or proper and often needed help, but he tried his best to be someone Lawren could be with. He actually cared, even loved Lawren (although the concept of it, as an emotion, evades him) and would have done absolutely anything for him, morals and consequences be damned. He is still willing to do anything in order to get him back, but that’s another story for another day
Another one would be Sid, to a lesser degree.
He does care for them, in his own way, which happens to be different from how Datura cherishes the MC. Both because of how he was raised (The Society’s standards) and his own perception of how he ought to do it. While he isn’t exactly cruel, he doesn’t coddle or even show much affection towards Sid, giving them a rather harsh (even spartan) upbringing. Sometimes it might look like he doesn’t love his child a lot, but compared to how he treats his recruits (almost as a despot), Sid definitely got the better end of the deal.
Some people think that Sid is something akin to an investment for Adonis, but given how The Society works, most of the children, if not all of them (except Datura’s) are that, tools or inversions for their parents to use/benefit from. It’s just that Adonis would likely not hide it if asked and often wonders where Sid, as his kid, starts, and where his personal project ends. Yet, regardless of what people think of how he raises them, Adonis is making sure that Sid can survive without him in case anything happens to him, hence why he’s severe on them. Call it tough love
Yes
That would definitely cause some major drama in-game, don’t you think? Especially if the MC and Avaron have a good relationship. Too bad that it’s too spoiler-ish, the answer is quite juicy
No one dares to use Datura, even when they play an evil character :')
Yes, you recall correctly! Avaron’s gender will be the same as the MC’s designated sex at birth; dmab MCs will have Aaron and dfab MCs, Ava. Someone asked if I could make it random or a choice, but I replied that it wouldn’t work in the long term because of certain variables
Both
It can be the petty kind of jealousy that’s expected from only children who suddenly become older siblings (and have to share everything, from toys to papa’s time and attention) but that they are bound to get over as they grow older, or the dangerous kind. The MC can try to murder Avaron for real in several occasions, but as you can guess, if Datura finds out, the MC is going to have some serious problems.
Mc as a supposedly good liar: It was a accident. I wasn’t in the area. they fell…several dozen times. I didn’t see anything. why won’t you love me daddy.
Previous comments say he died in earlier versions of the game so I’m hoping but that hope is very much diminished
Meanwhile, I want Avaron’s spouse and if ever my MC’s spouse to be at least cordial – they may not life each other but at least remain civil for their respective spouses (honestly, if it turns out my chosen LI was a little shit to Avaron and their significant other, they’re getting the boot before I’ll have my MC turn on them)
(the only exception is if Avaron’s significant other is an actual little shit and we gotta work the magic so Avaron doesn’t end up hurt by this person)
Generally also hoping that Avaron gets to be happy too
I have good news!! For anyone who still remembers One Thousand Blooms and misses it, or wants to try it, I decided to upload the demo again, you can find it here:
this is so good! I don’t know why but I felt like crying while playing it. Maybe because the way the mother treat the mc and then suddenly the mc has a brother so I’m afraid the father will start to distant himself too–
