Ugh, it’s a shame, the only characters I like are Arthur and Melin, because I couldn’t choose those two characters, at first I thought I could make my own characters, but that’s okay, let’s try another character
It’s on the fencing path. When talking to Adrian, first select “I believe actions speak louder than words.”, then pick “I decide this is the perfect time to indulge in some overpriced merchandise from the nearby vending machine.” You can use it up to seven times.
Okay so I just recently finished the newest update. Good shit. But I’m just saying, if the book club doesn’t have petting cats working the same way as feeding the horse or using the vending machine(which is lowering fear if I’m not mistaken), then maybe, just maybe, we’ve failed as a society and should just let the apocalypse happen.
So i just trying out the new updates, the fencing routes feels much better and impactful than polo routes for me, i like, oh and i just realize there’s an option to be mute? How to be mute?
I come bearing more previews! The second route through the second part of the next update has been finished. That just leaves two more routes (although the next route I’m working on splits into three different branches on its own).
I plan to go back and finish the final route through Chapter 1 after I finish Chapter 2. I’m just really sick of Chapter 1 and need a little break from it right now.
Right now the average magic skill score is ~10 and the MC hasn’t even had their first magicry lesson with Merlin, so it’s only giving the MC extra-sensory perception at the moment.
For a better idea how it works you can spar with Lancelot during the Camelot dream sequence and set your sword on fire or try fighting the fae if you go into the forest with Arthur.
You can also look to Merlin for how magic works in this world but… uh… Merlin’s a wee bit of an anomaly in several ways.
Who is everyone’s past incarnation (the MC, the allies, the imposter saboteur) is the big driving mystery of the first game, so it won’t be revealed for certain until the big climax at the end (although the MC and other characters can certainly have their suspicions before then!)
Petting the cats won’t be the main way of lowering fear in the book club since it wouldn’t be fair… you don’t have to perform acrobatics to feed the polo ponies or get junk food from the vending machine.
Petting all the kitties will definitely be doing something else though.
The mute variable is turned on by default at the start of the game. It gets turned off the first time you have the MC say something in “dialogue” or scream or sing or whatnot. The bottom of the stats screen will also mention the MC not saying a word if the mute variable is still triggered.
It doesn’t get mentioned in the narrative until the point where you & Adrian introduce yourselves to Merlin. At that point Adrian will mention that he’s never heard the MC speak out loud and that’s when the flavor text will start periodically popping up.
Also the stuff that appears on the end screen is just the data that I’m currently collecting (which is all related to the fencing club route right now). Since Merlin’s variables weren’t impacted by the fencing route, I’m not currently collating their info.
Thanks for the stats! I keep intending to mention during the updates (and I keep forgetting) but HERE is the side story “Roommates” from Adrian’s point of view (similar to the Interlude Adrian from the actual game).
Edit: I also finally edited the FAQ here to actually contain questions that get frequently brought up (instead of my just making stuff up).
Thanks for the stats! While I’m here, I’ll just give a heads up that I’m currently running a poll on Tumblr regarding potentially starting a Patreon for side stories like that Roommates one I linked not too long ago.
Glad to see that someone likes Merlin! I’ve been mostly getting feedback on Adrian so far.
Thanks for the heads up! I think I’ve fixed what was causing that on the site, so the game should be working properly now. LMK if you’re still getting the error message.
