@nightcap To both of those, yes. I do remember the lore increasing in @Cataphrak’s games. To be honest, I didn’t like having no lore to begin with in Hero of Kendrickstone, but to avoid spoilers, I don’t mind lore updating throughout the story, if I am told when it updates so I can read it.

As Florida is America’s Australia am I doing both of those?..
Just finished the game again, like the changes.
My MC, Valentina, is now on team Spider.
I based her off name/personality slightly on a Jojo villain. The name should give it away, Dojyaaa~~n.

Good morning from Australia
, so far really enjoying the game, very original, the writing was a bit confusing at first but I think you get used to it pretty fast. Please keep up the great work!!!

I agree with @Silhuetta, if you want to reduce the infodump then there _will _ be cuttings and lots of revisions. I understand you’re excited about your world and you want to tell the reader as much as you can about it, but in any work of writting some things just have to go, and that includes stuff you love as well.
You can also make the info optional. Some games will give you the option to ask several questions, but then at the bottom there’ll be an option to just skip it and continue with the plot. That’s a good way to make sure interested players can learn more about the lore without having to force it on players who just aren’t that interested.

This is great @Silhuetta !
Firstly - that’s a really succinct explanation of cutting things down and really useful to me.
I had not though of using the conversation more - I’ve certainly seen what you describe in several choicescripts so I will test my coding skills to do erm ‘once asked remove an option’ conversation with a skip function.
And I think you may have struck gold with mentors - Anselm for instance is meant to try to teach you things every so often - (plus you already have a history of not listening to him)
Hmm, interesting.
So potentially a nice padding of Lore to get started.
With conversation ‘adding’ more sections in the stats page
And a small reminder (say between a scene transition) to say it has been updated.
That could avoid my worries and make a big improvement. Thanks!

But Grumpy is so grumpy… I mean my girl totally believe he is just a glorified buttler, put there to avoid anyone of them become aware of their political potential power. It is more a jail guard than a skill full teacher. Because all the other children are plainly stupid. And are being taught by grumpy to maintain a naive childish depending aptitude . Worst aptitude ever for a future royal family member in Backstab Spartan system monarchy. Maybe he was paid for the other queen to become us a stupid heir or something.

Thanks for the compliment @SuperNova
And @trinnie - I think I’m beginning to see what you mean by ‘including the stuff you love as well’ !
SO for all you new people joining us on the thread QUESTION OF THE DAY - something a bit less intense and more creative, while I work through recent feedback.
“describe a fantasy place you want to visit in 3 words” - 07/04/16
For example, for me that might be “desert-planet, spice, worms.”
- I’ve thrown my cap into the ring for @Lordirish’s 4th Annual CSCompetition and I’m outlining a Lydian city-state (on Eris) in my head for my short story to be based in. Your golden words are worth a thousand pictures!
@poison_mara everyone likes Anselm’s lectures mara - everyone. . .
(not sure why Anselm looks like Santa.)

Dystopian elven cities.
I am so tired of the elven being a peaceful race living eternally grateful into forests with no technology or anything else basically. In Tolkien except in The Hobbit. the elves are like ghost within necessities. Give me a backstabing elven intrigued where Humans and elven citizens has dwarves and gnomes as slaves.

Oooh, gnome slaves.
I’m probably giving myself away here when I say - does Toady One ring a bell for anyone. Now there’s an author of dystopian games.
Can’t seem to find any pictures of dwarves or fortresses, or bloodthirsty elephants in these emojis tho.
Oh wait

near enough
sigh - I really am plumbing the opaque depths of fandom now.

Advanced PoC civilization;
Yeah, I know that’s cheating
I’m just tired of the ~designed fantasy black race~ always being some kind of warrior culture. Give me an African-inspired civilization that is the pillar of culture and grace of a setting, give me black magicians and scientists and diplomats instead of honor-obsessed warriors and warlords.
I’d also like to visit a place where the laws or reality are soft, and your imagination shapes the world around you. Mmm, hi Fade.

Not cheating! how about a space based Malian culture, crossing the void in the mobile space-station ‘the Prester John’.
Their structures could have a cool organic look:

…
Looks like a cat in a costume to me.
@Zilla I’m going to interpret that sentence as your answer the question of the day. So your entry for ‘fantasy place you’d like to visit in three words’ is:
Santa, cats, costumes

I would love to visit a place full of jolly people that have cats, and wear costume!
@Zilla …so, people in furry costumes?
Mm, I’d like to come up with something that extends into three words, but I ultimately keep swinging back to one thing:
Dragons(I’m obsessed with them).
You could make it enjoyable and fresh by giving it an unique tone, perhaps by taking a viewpoint or pointing out a characteristic that hasn’t been thought of yet.

Not really, furry costumes are boring… They make me think everyone is a mascot of a sports team.
I kinda want a bunch of people dressed up from different time periods living together.
@zilla Ah, I see. That would surely make for an interesting situation.
Would time travelers be included in this?

Of course, and to maybe time traveling ancient Egyptians to bring more cats into the equation.
