No customization in a game.

Before I begin working on a game, I’d like to know if no character customization is possible/acceptable? If possible/acceptable, how do you generally feel about that?

I should state that what I mean is that there are characters already made, and you (the player) get to choose which characters path you wanna play, but there’ll be no custom player character.
