Yup. Though, I was cringing pretty hard at the ā€œsenpaiā€ dialogue choices near the mid-late stage of the game. Good god those were painful to choose.

Thank you all for the lovely reviews and support! And thank you @resuri08 for helping with the technicals.

This is absolutely gorgeous. One thing I like about Gabriel is the fact that you can’t go wrong with him. His face is never revealed, so you can rarely go wrong with him. The bloody halo is an absolute win. :joy:

I would assume that you won’t be able to get any achievements you’ve already achieved in your first run, but it should still be able. I’m not so sure, I don’t really know how steam works

Yes, I am a fan of RWBY, RvB, Achievement Hunter, and pretty much anything Rooster Teeth related.

Maybe. Unless the MC intervenes and romances one of them, they definitely got something going on.

I would just like to note… I was pressured into putting that option in.

… But yes, I did make sure to include as much option as possible for the readers to play as anyone they want.

So, if the MC romances either Raquel or Gabriel, do they still have a crush on each other but don’t pursuit it or there is nothing there at all?

If the MC romances Gabriel, Raquel will be very pissed at you as she has a crush on him, but she will not do anything untoward. If the MC romances Raquel, Gabriel will be happy for the two of them, as he is completely oblivious that Raquel had a crush on him.

We could have a harem instead then

But won’t Raquelbe torn between the two if romanced? Or will there be no relationship drama of that kind? (Sorry for the many questions but they just keep popping in my head :slightly_smiling_face:)

tsk tsk tsk What did I say? Not here…

It’s alright, I love these kinds of questions that really breaks apart the logic of my game and examine it for flaws.

And yes, though Raquel is torn, she is also rather frustrated by Gabriel. And yes, there will be a scene later on in the second book between the three of you

Thanks, I can’t wait till the drama unfolds :slightly_smiling_face::sweat_smile:

Hmmm… that’s odd. I can’t seem to figure out what’s causing this. I’ll see if my co-author can fix it once I get a hold of him.

Been enjoying the game so far, but one thing has just bothered me when you go to the underground tattoo parlor with rook and bishop, you do one thing and just then just watch uselessly as they fight outnumbered. What was that all about?

Just finished and I very much enjoyed it! That said, I have do some comments:

The formatting is a bit rough around the edges – there are a bunch of sections where there are a lot of line_breaks for no apparent reason, though unfortunately I didn’t think to mark them down.

I did catch one error, though, where for a secondary low-profile suppressor it shows up as:

Low-Profile Suppressor
- Psst…you wanna smuggle that pistol of yours with the suppressor on? Here you go… *line_break - Suppresses Gunshots

Is the player supposed to start with the carbon nanotube suit? With its stats it seems like the lower plate carriers are a bit useless.

The bulk of my comments are some thoughts on the Full Informant ending:

Spoiler: Ending Thoughts

Note: This is my first full playthrough, so I haven’t gone through Chapter 4 with other starts.

It felt underwhelming. Unsatisfying. Now I understand that is partly be the point – it is hinted that the player character is divided by their loyalties to the FBI and to the Archangels, as may the player. That’s fine, in fact I quite enjoy the sort-of defeatist funk the PC and Reville goes through – I find that dynamic much more appealing than the PC-Gabriel one. It’s that I feel there’s no real resolution to the arc, and you end up with more questions than not, especially if you reject the Corigan’s offer.

It was also rather sudden, I think. Buying flowers for Mouse, but not actually getting a scene with them and instead a ā€œWho’s on Firstā€ joke, which didn’t seem appropriate for the atmosphere of the scene and which had been used at least twice beforehand, so it had gotten old. The hook for the next part was based on attachment to the characters (the Archangel Crew and Reville, but not Salazar) rather than the scene by its own merit.

I don’t want to compare it with other games in the catalogue, but for those they rounded off the game enough to stand on its own, generally. Though the story did go on in future installments, there was an ending scene which felt like the end of an arc, a part of the PC’s story, and a start of a new arc. So far, I’m aware that it’s the end of an arc, but it neither really feels personal or a smooth lead in to a new chapter. It just ends rather abruptly. If you rejected the Corigan’s offer, it’s even more bleak, since you are utterly defeated, but instead of reacting to that it also just ends.

The epilogue with the Corigan was somewhat better, though it was mainly through the vagueness leaving me with more questions and an increased urge to take down VAMcorp. But I also don’t like the untouchable chessmaster trope, which also soured me to that as well.

Some (but admittedly not myself) may be unsatisfied that the PC has to sit out what is implied to be the end-game setpiece battle and so the ā€œfollow Reville aroundā€ scenes might feel underwhelming to them. I personally think it’s fine and in tone with the listless atmosphere, but others might stick away from it due to a perceived lack of content. I haven’t played the other Chapter 4, though, so that’s not a complete assessment.

The PC’s relationships with the Archangel Crew, especially if they were on good terms with Gabe and an RO, are never really touched on. This is understandable as leaving it for the next game would allow for greater exploration of this. However, while Mouse’s condition is touched upon, I would have thought the PC to be also concerned about their RO, and what they think of them now. They did take a bullet for them, after all. This is not essential, but I feel as though having some resolution with Mouse and the RO in the PC reflecting about them might have been nice. The scene where the PC pops in to see Mouse was nice, but it wasn’t exactly in the ā€œendingā€; instead we have Captain Flowers. If you ended it right there with the MC at Mouse’s bedside before the bit with Captain Flowers, that might have been more satisfying, actually.

Of course, this doesn’t work if they’re dead, but I don’t envy the amount of plot strands you have to get through.

This is not to say I didn’t enjoy it. I greatly enjoyed the entire game, including C4P2 as an informant (hospital, Reville and the Corigan). It’s just that the way it ended felt a bit awkward.

forgot I named the cat Irene, so after the water party at the strip club and Irene drives you home and Gabriel calls and tells you to meet him, when it said ā€œIrene meows for you as you’re about to leave. You give her a calming stroke before walking outā€ I initially thought something entirely different.
