Neo-Twiny Jam 2025! Submit for Charity! just 1 week left!

June is right around the corner, and with it, another edition of this event. Returning once more, to keep the Twiny Jam flame going, and hoping to break all our records and raise money for charity…

Neo-Twiny Jam

Just like the previous years, the rules are pretty much the same:

  • Do not write more than 500 words!
    • Sound, graphics, code do not count in total wordcount.
    • Error messages for parser do not count
  • You can use any program/system you want as long as it is IF at the end.
  • You can also write in any language!
  • NSFW content is accepted, as long as content warnings are indicate in the submission
  • Games should not include any generated AI content (incl. Cover Image/Game Page). Entries using AI/LLM will be removed.
  • Assets should be properly credited.
  • Spam or hateful content will not be accepted.

Your submission will be matched into a charity donation!

Once more, I) will be matching the number of submitted entries and donate it to the Trevor Project and SAGE.

Thanks to all of you participants and super cool donors, we raised over $500 for EqualityFlorida in 2023, and over $600 for multiple organisations in 2024. Let’s try to match it again this year!

If you would also like to donate to an LGBTQ+ cause, anonymously or publicly, matching the submissions or a stand-alone donation, let us know (so we can coordinate things)

Thanks for posting about this – I signed up and will spread the word elsewhere! I know a number of folks who have been interested in trying out IF but don’t want to do anything overwhelmingly large.

The Trevor Project and SAGE initiatives are interesting. Maybe I should give it a shot?

If I get it right. The code do not counts within the wordcounter, only text, is that so?

Thank you!! Really appreciate the boost :green_heart:

Exactly! Same with title page, codexes, statistics, credits… Only the words telling the story count

Looking forward to your entry!

The submission window is now OPEN!

From now until the end of the month, you can submit your tiny creations - and do a good deed in the process!!

And if you’re thinking of donating to an LGBTQ+ organisation this month (maybe even matching the submission count? Dm me!), we’ve compiled a non-exhaustive list over on Tumblr

Happy Pride yall!

There are about 2 weeks left before the submission window closes
25 entries have already been submitted!

We hope to see yours soon

Also, since last post, 4 wonderful people have pledge to donate too!

The hardest part about this is that I decided to write in Twine and have to re-teach myself Harlowe instead of typing in ChoiceScript all the time. :joy:

That’s tough! They are so different in terms of code/formatting!

You could consider SugarCube otherwise, there’s a conversion guide on itch :stuck_out_tongue:

Also, we’re really close to 40 entries !! :green_heart:

I’m used to Harlowe but yeah, they are pretty far apart! :joy:

We’re just one week away from the end of the submission period!

And so so close to 50 entries!!

Will you be the 50th one?

After a moment of disappointment in which I totally misunderstood what counted as words despite reading the many posts that ask about what does and doesn’t count, I submitted a thing! It’s roughly 400 words.

(ETA: There are 53 games now. Nice!)
