Well, I failed. I’m not much further than my last update. But, that’s another 20k toward the project, so that’s nice.

My grand hopes of writing during the holidays fell apart. It’s been a nice break, but I really need to get back into the swing of things.

Trying to do both, anyway. For some reason, writing CTG makes me want to write Resonance, and writing Resonance makes me want to switch to CTG. :-/

But the important thing is the continued cycle of wanting to write.
Anyone else take (or tried) a similar approach? Two projects at once so that you can switch between them if you get tired of what you’re doing?

Great to hear from everyone. @CS_Closet I love the edit percent. I plan to do the same. That’s a huge thankless job, rereading the whole story. But, it’s also absolutely essential.

I reset myself for January. I’ve also reduced my goal to 30k. I suspect that 30k will actually finish the project, or very close to it. Well, the rough copy, anyway.

I also suspect that my numbers will grow as I do the big edit, since I’ll add details along with my corrections.

Day 4: +5463 (These words are mostly today, but a little done the days before)
January Goal: 5463 / 30000

It just feels good to keep going. Two very strong months in. Would it be possible to have it ready for Beta in another two strong months? Perhaps. We’ll see.

I managed to only do 26227 last month. This month I am working to finish a project and finish edits on my Novel to submit at the end of the month, so word count is going to be low. I do intend to finish the first section, minus the customization section, out by the end of the Month as well. Happy writing to you all.

This blizzard has basically shut down all over Southern Ontario (and most of the northern States around us!) I got the call nice and early, so I got up and got to work… on my game!

And wow, has it paid off. If only I didn’t have that pesky full time job and could do this every day. Weather looks miserable… I might get one more day like this. Awesome!

Blizzard Day #3! Wow, I got SOOO much done again! Lots of it was recoding some tricky parts, so my wordcount doesn’t show my true work. The snow has stopped, but a few roads are still closed.

Probably not a complete shutdown tomorrow, but is there a chance of a reduced workday? I sure hope so!

Oh, and bonus achievement, Life of a Mobster has passed the 100k mark.

Mission accomplished! Day 24, I have completed the rough draft! It’s VERY rough, but it’s done. I thought it would take 30k, it turned out to be 27558 to finish it.

So much more to do. It needs at least one solid read through for proof reading, where it’ll gain some more details, fill in any plot inconsistencies and add a couple new choices here and there.

After that, the stats need a solid cleaning and tweaking to create balance. I’ll do the proofread first, so any new choices get the balancing too.

And then… I have to actually play it! It passes quicktest and randomtest, but I’ve never actually played it. That could take a month, easy. It’ll get a lot of new choices through that, I’m sure.

And THEN… and THEN… Beta, I suppose. Perhaps March, we’ll see.
