I didn’t make it either.
There’s a lot of work, but not a lot of words, when beta testing.
Next year, maybe.

Wow. Completely forgot about NaNoWriMo this year. Too late to jump on board?
I’ve been working on a non-CoG app for a while. Think my word count for November is about 41,000 words. Not quite 50K, but not so far off. Had holidays smashing up my work time, too.
Man, if I’d been paying more attention to NaNoWriMo, I’m sure I could’ve hit that 50-thou…
Completely botched NaNoWriMo this year, with only 12472 words on the counter. Guess there’s always next year

Lost count not long after my other update, but once my cold cleared up, a lot of family stuff unexpectedly happened from mid-month on, so I guarantee we fell short. Way behind schedule in general. (shakes fist angrily at the abstract concept of life and existence) Curses!
Ah well. At least it seems I am not alone on this!

I fell behind, too
Everything just kinda piled up and writing had to be pushed back on my to-do list to the point where I hit a record low of just 2 words one day.
Yeah, I kinda knew I wasn’t going to make it then… Whoops.
But, since this was my first year, I’m pretty happy that I was mostly able to keep pace with the word-requirements. Have to try again next year!

I didn’t nearly make my goal this year.
But I didn’t count my work on other projects, my dozens of hours editing, the hundreds of words I wrote in places like this forum. I stuck to my plan of counting only words on my WIP.
I’m not going to get all of Day 2 done. I’m not going to get 50,000 words. But I had problems. I persevered, I got some serious work done anyway that my players will appreciate when I release it, and when I fall short of my goal I will fail honestly.
I have a benchmark, and I will do better next year.

Well, I didn’t achieve the 50k goal either. Unless you count copy/pasting, because I did get 75,393 words into a name randomization array. But I shouldn’t count that. And I’ve been very scattered on multiple projects. I’ve hit somewhere between 30-35k… but I have done more writing than I probably would have done otherwise, and I’ve had a great amount of creativity this month.

I think you guys still did very well, because you were encouraged to write more than you could have in a month, so kudos to all of you. I managed about 51k in the end myself and it was definitely easier somedays than others, but I’ll be interested in trying it again next Nov.

I failed miserably, i set the bar too high then life imploded and now if you excuse me I now have to be escorted down the street while a crazy lady follows me shouting Shame.

Ah, some of my absolute favorite writers on this site have checked in over the last day or two.
I failed miserably. Other than one marathon of 10,000 words (I provided play by play on the CCH thread), I accomplished little. I could blame my job or my wife or my kids or that fact that we’re looking at schools or the fact that we’re getting our house ready to sell, but really it just comes down to me not prioritizing my writing enough.
I need to let go of TV and phone games and most reading. I need to start getting up earlier. I just don’t know if these things will happen.
I do have a week of vacation starting on Dec 19th but it being the week leading up to Christmas, and considering my kiddos will be home all day with me, I’m not sure how much “free time” will be involved.
But congrats to those who met their goal, like @Lizzy, @derekmetaltron, and (almost!) to Mr @PaulGresty
And I do plan to do another “10,000 words in 24 hours” marathon sometime in December. That was a SUPER productive way to push the story forward even if it made me nervous.
