In the last scene of part 2, you have a choice of fighting in a warehouse or fighting zombies on the dock.

I did not notice that.

I should have Part 3, chapter 1 up by Monday night

Is that where you choose to run away from the zombies or stand and fight?

No, it is the start of life in the safehouse.

hey JimD how many chapter do you think part 3 gonna have just curious?

3 are planned so far. Most likely I will post them 1-2 weeks apart each.

ok cool

It didn’t let me past the car part, I couldn’t hot wire any of them

@Cdasselin Did you just try this? I changed the code recently so after you try one car and can’t hotwire it, you automatically “find” keys to the next car.

What time do you estimate putting it up Monday?

It’s going to be delayed. I have been working on it a good portion of this weekend and am not close to being done. I want to include a lot of interesting choices, so I have a lot to write. Probably post it in a week.

I’m in love with the game so far

However, I had to play as her brother because I keep getting an error whenever I try to play as the sister for some reason. Other then that this CoG was really well written and I’m anticipating the next parts

@Amara, did you try the newer version? This is an older thread that is bumped up but here’s the new one:

Thanks for the kind words!

Your welcome  I still keep getting the error though?

Ok, I fixed it. I am currently working on Part 3 and added some gender-specific variables Like most bad programmers, I forgot to test
If you clear your browser cache, it should work now. Sorry about that!

thank you so much

Hey Jim. I exactly have time to offer my opinion much on part 2, so I’m going to give it now.

The dream in the beginning sort of appealed to me. It gave a sense that the zombie issue was so big that the character was dreaming about it. Even though it didn’t really seem to make that much of a difference, I still enjoyed being able to choose to use a flamethrower. Kudos for making me feel like I’m playing the game Prototype again.

I think the thing about Devlin was that he was the hardest to have a good relationship with in this chapter, which bothered me slightly, although he was still a pretty engaging character and a gave off a sort rough but laid back vibe. It seemed as though he wasn’t afraid to state what he was thinking, especially in the car scene.

As for Heather, it seemed pretty funny to have her call me a smart-ass in the car scene. Although she and Emma were more engaging then Devlin, I felt a lot of the time as though Heather doesn’t really matter much. I think that you should add little things here and there to make pleasing her seem more rewarding and going against her wishes slightly more drastic. I think this was mentioned earlier, but at the part where you choose how many bags heather takes she “smiles and nods”. I believe it should be a little more engaging, such as she “flashes you a grin”. Little things like that.

I don’t really have much of an opinion on Emma, but she seemed to me as a neutral type, such as how she would be willing to talk over letting Devlin come or not no matter your initial choice.

As for the action, it was gruesome, highly detailed, and slightly unrealistic. In other words, I loved it. My only critic is that there should be more, like in part 1.

I can’t wait for part 3 to come out. Good work overall, and remember to take a break once in a while if you have to. I know what a large writing project feels like, and I’m pretty sure a choicescript game is that much harder. Keep up the good work!

@Kamer thanks for the comments and suggestions. Developing this has been time consuming but I enjoy it immensely. I agree with all of your feedback and hopefully Part 3 has what you are looking for.

Thought I’d try this out. I just got down to the cafe in the apartment building, killed the zombie there, grabbed the cellphone, and headed down further…then I got this error message:

{message:“line 9: Invalid expression at char 2, expected NUMBER, STRING, VAR or PARENTHETICAL, was: EQUALITY [=]”}{message:“line 9: Invalid expression at char 2, expected NUMBER, STRING, VAR or PARENTHETICAL, was: EQUALITY [=]”}

…and now I have to start over. :frowning:

Edit:
Same problem if I make different choices. It just won’t let me move on to the next chapter.
