Glad to see this game back it’s one of my favourites.

Great story so far, I had to spend 15 minutes thinking for one choice
I did find a spelling error though. In one choice it says;
And I’m happy to ahare my money with the others. We need to look out for each other.
I assume you mean ‘share’

That makes sense since it’s actually part of the next scene that I’m still working on. Not sure why I added that to the update, likely it was just done in haste.
Regardless, I’m glad you enjoy it. And I would love to find out what choice you spent 15 minutes on. More for my own curiosity than anything.
Oh it was just deciding which direction (and location) to travel to, close to the end of the demo

That also makes sense. And now I’m just in the middle of creating those consequences. Not that they’re good or bad.
Yeah, from the context you learn it sounds as though the Broken Plains route would differ greatly from the other two, just out of curiosity; would the option to split from the others arise later in the game? as in either settle, or travel.

Yes, it will. One thing I have in my notes is “no matter where the PC settles/goes, trouble finds them.”
One thing I always try to keep in mind when writing a story is to have motivations (or specific lack thereof) backing up every action/inaction. So each of the co-workers has something that they want, and there’s a specific reason tied to it from their past and general demeanor.
In short, you can “follow the story” by traveling around the world (as the original game intended), or you can break away from fate and make a home. Or maybe do something in between: like settling somewhere but traveling just to travel, for example.
And I do have tiny stats that are being tracked with decisions like that. These will have reactions from others, but nothing huge (in general). Unless it’s a serious occasion, I don’t think it’s fair for someone to decide if they like you or not depending on what you’ve done. They might treat you differently, but nothing too far.
Below, I’ve got two semi-spoilers regarding how two co-workers might react to the player’s attitudes and actions.
Say you’ve so far given inclinations to adventuring in this new world, Jaden then will likely come to you more often because that’s something he’s all about while someone like Barry might not bring something up that could lead to an exit. But say you’ve done the opposite and made it clear you want out. Now Jaden might offhandedly talk about the places he’s been to, but he won’t expect you to want to do the same, meanwhile, Barry will be in contact with you about anything that pops up.
Man, this reply was a lot longer than I expected.

So you will be seeing the other characters again. I assumed so but I’ve been wrong before.
What is the range of time that the story takes place in? as in how many months or years will pass in the story, if you have planned this already, or would this depend on the route and final outcome of the story?
Also would there be NPC’s that become significant characters in the story? Possibly as associates or even romance, is there an ending planned where an NPC could make its way into ‘the Real World’ if this ‘World’ is not merely digital?

You have no idea how slowly my smile crept up my face as I was reading that. I’ll answer in the order of questions asked:
Dunno, I’m thinking something fair for both sides of players (wanting to stay or leave), but also long enough to get things done.
Yes and yes.
Undecided. I definitely want to have an ending that someone can get back, but I’m not sure how long after that’s done that I’d carry the story on. Thinking about it, I suppose I could show something that could happen for this route, while those who decided to stay could face this world now that there’s no longer a huge crisis going on. In fact, I think I’m going to write that down. I rather like the sound of it.

Nice to know I put a smile in someones’ day.
Well one route I definitely would enjoy reading is where you attempt to stay neutral on the ‘discussion’ as much as possible. Possibly with the choice to pursue a method to intertwine the two worlds, much like Claire during the discussion, so a ‘Claire neutrality’ if you will
. Though that sounds cliche and is quite the mainstream trope, I enjoy the idea and especially if the attempt is in vain. It only shows that even with a new world, a new beginning. The world isn’t fair and won’t give you what you desire.
Though that is just me spouting my thoughts, if you don’t wish for these ideas in your story then go ahead. But great work so far.
No, I rather like that. I’m adding that to my notes right after posting this reply.
Damn. This is getting really ambitious now. But it’s equally terrifying and exciting to think about. So long sleep, I hardly knew ye.
Be careful not to blind yourself with ambition though, “a man wishing for flight does not grow wings in his sleep.” Well, I doubt you’ll be getting much sleep anyway

We really need to find a shield laying around somewhere though. If you pick up a one handed weapon in this game thus far as a warrior you are sort of wandering around just with it.

I agree. Some of the other characters as well would like a shield and/or some armor. And on top of that, two of them haven’t even touched a weapon yet.
There is something that I did forget to ask; does the hand chosen affect anything? I assume it’s purely for aesthetically purposes or would I be wrong in saying that and it holds relevance to the story?

It’s mostly aesthetics. I think it’ll read nicer if I say “your right/left hand” rather than just “your hand.” But I might add some part where (because that ring doesn’t like to move) if you do something with a hand, someone might see it.
But no; as I have it, choosing one hand over the other has no earth-shattering meaning behind it.

Left: Because the ring is on one left-hand finger you control reality itself.
Right: Congrats, you look snappy.

im here to report some typo
:
i think this is just me… but it sounds a bit weird… how about : “We’ll be fine, okay?”
i guess this is a typo
this confused me…
that’s all for now

Thanks! For the first, I’m not sure if I’ll change it. I like using the word “okay” for two different meanings, but I can see your point. The second is a straightforward typo. Lowercase a’s and s’s look similar in notepad++. The last, I just added “shop” at the end of the sentence.
Thanks again, and I’ll always be happy for any reports or suggestions, regardless if they’re about the format or the game in general.

Thanks! You have no idea how great it is to read all of that. I plan to have more of that sort of thing to come, and I hope that I stay funny.
