At the end, are you planning on having a way to exit a game, or will our character be trapped for ever, having to learn to deal with it?

I’ve made up my mind long, long ago that there would be a decision about which way to go made by the player. As well as there being a nice little epilogue as a bow on top. So really, it’ll just be sort of taking a peek inside, and deciding which way you want the PC to lean towards.

So will the game ever affect our character’s mental (or emotional) stability?

Quickly glancing side to side
Maybe…maybe not.
Really though, that is also up for the reader to decide. Certain actions leading to certain behaviors, etc. That bit after the fight where it asks how you feel did track a specific stat. It wasn’t just fluff.

Will you reveal in game how exactly the game sucks people’s consciousness(s) into it, or or will that just be something to be left unexplained?

I’ve sort of gone back and forth for that. On one hand, it’s a whole other beast to think up a reason. On the other hand, it would feel a little cheap (personally) not to explain it.
As it stands right now, it won’t be explained. At least not explicitly. My main reason being because that’s not what the story is about really. That’s more of just the thing to accept to go with the flow. Kind of like you don’t need to understand the force to enjoy Star Wars.
And as always, I may change my mind in the future. But this is where I stand for the moment.

Doesn’t seem cheap to me (that sort of thing is riddled throughout digital entertainment, so I thing we’re all immune)
I enjoyed the update. I’m looking forward to seeing how this game develops.

WOW!! THIS IS GOOD!!
THIS IS REALLY GOOD!!! XD
i know that its not uncommon to find a story about someone trapped into a game (did i make any sense ?!) btw, it doesn’t even cross my mind about game maker that being trapped in their own game with their co-worker… and that is something new (in a good way) seriously… i find this story really interesting and had many potential… so, Good Luck !!

October 3, 2016 Update
Man, I’ve finally gotten back to this and have the story at least to a point that I’m comfortable will give a better idea of what to expect in this.
Here’s the new link, since dropbox is no longer feasible: https://dashingdon.com/play/mfloyd/mortal-odyssey/mygame/
Also, I’ve gotten rid of the cooking stat. I thought it’d be fun to have one ‘wacky’ stat that the player could spend time in, but I just couldn’t feasibly add it. If you’re a fan of cooking in general, don’t worry, I have a few ideas that it can just be in the story for fun. Otherwise, it’s been replaced by the skill ‘Sneaking.’
And, in case anyone’s curious, the reason I haven’t posted anything in so long is because I had to catch back up to where I was. Mistakes were made, and my data for everything was lost. When that happened, I basically walked away from my computer to cool off. Then a special someone slapped some fire back in my system and here I am. I hope to update more regularly as I add more to this game.
