 I know that feeling well.

If your confidence stat is low but humor is high and accepting, can this still plays out?
Cause that would be amazing

That’s my goal! Confidence and accepting are unrelated stats, and affect different dialogues. The end result is that Humorous Accepting MC more appreciates the irony of being a zero in a family of Pollard 10s, and finds the joke hilarious despite being the butt of it. Whereas Confident Accepting MC is more ā€œOh, you thought my lack of mind powers would actually bother me?? Pffft.ā€

Yeah, that would actually be more interesting than confident and accepting. Like looking at the bright and side of your unfortunate condition and making jokes about rather than just accepting it confidently.
But that raised another question. What would a morbid accepting MC do?

Sorry for the barrage of questions.

Never apologize for asking questions! You guys have NO idea how excited I get over people being invested in my story. It gives me fuel to write, like spiritual caffeine.

Morbid Accepting MC will be very much ā€œI am darkness. I can make YOU feel darkness. You think my mind is weak? Well, welcome inside, jerkā€ and then bombards the intruding Ment with the bleakness and/or depravity of their thoughts.

There will also be mixed profiles, that display two of the personality traits (but in a lesser extent). Chapter 1 is to establish a foundation character profile for the rest of the book which will color flavor dialogue/text (I think the first difference between Accepting vs Resentful occurs in the cookie flashback, over how MC responds to Gray having telekinesis). Although your personality will be able to shift if you consistently begin to pick different types answers.

Thank you for taking your time answering the questions, I’m glad that the questions don’t disturb you.

That sounds amazing. Can’t wait to do just that balanced with some humor.
I’m gonna be spewing dark jokes right and left.

Ooooh. That’s actually kind of badass. I’m reminded of a bit in one of the old Doctor Who novels where supporting character #3 comes across the Doctor and an unconscious telepath. ā€œShe wanted to know what was on my mind. I’m rather afraid I let her.ā€

Don’t know if this had been reported or not, but I noticed one of the code seems weird.

There is a stats check ā€œif Grayhate > 89ā€, and if I didn’t misunderstand how the codes work, there should be no way to get it. The closest we could get 80, setted by a previous choice

Whoops! You were right. One of Gray’s responses was a set 80 instead of +80. Should be fixed now, and your cookie-denied rage can now escalate to trembles.

This is such a great start! I’m very into your writing style, it’s so breezy and descriptive at the same time, and has exciting hooks for all the characters already presented. I can never get enough of the superhero stories, and the character-driven ones? Yes, please!

As a fan of more established MCs, I found it a delight. I love me some upbeat characterization even in the face of such overwhelming drawback (puberty must have been merciless), so I’m very happy role-playing as one is possible here. Plus, a brother? A doting brother? You’re spoiling me!

Just a random thought: any particular reason MC and K don’t exchange names on the ride to the school?

ā€˜Have a tissue’ slayed me

Thank you so much for sharing this with us, I will be eagerly looking forward to each and every upcoming update and patiently waiting to see if any of my theories stands the test of time and story development!

So,what would the opposites be?Like confident resentful,or humorous resentful, and would morbid resentful be an ā€˜I want to die’ sort of thing?

So, the extreme versions of each Resentful personality:

Morbid Resentful = ā€œLife is cruel and unyeilding. Let me write a darkly tormented poem about my emotions that I then rip to shreds because it’s not good enough, nothing I do is ever good enough.ā€
Humorous Resentful = ā€œLet me joke about my depression and buried resentment to hide my tears. Oh, I’m sorry, did my joke hurt your feelings? Well, my feelings are dead.ā€
Confident Resentful = ā€œTHIS IS FREAKING UNFAIR. F*** you, you, and your little dog too.ā€
(unless CR MC likes animals, in which case: ā€œF*** you and you, and neither of you deserves dogs.ā€)

Yes! There’s a very good reason for a later plot twist. Hopefully it didn’t come across as too unnatural. I know that I’ve personally been in situations where I’ve been connecting with someone only to realize we hadn’t exchanged names and then I have to awkwardly stick out my hand and say ā€œOh, by the way, I’m Jo.ā€ I was trying to create that atmosphere between K and MC, only both forgot the belated introductions.

I love Grayson (though not quite more than K)! I can’t wait to romance him with a one brain celled MC who is constantly in flirt mode, even in dangerous situations. It’s gonna be adorable. Is the age gap between them gonna be a discussion/thing? Like my MC immediately confessed and got rejected and I was like I totally forgot she was only 16 in this flashback lmao so I’m glad he said no.

I tried to piece together the family drama thing from the flashbacks, but to no real avail (bc I too have just the one brain cell)? Just wondering how tense the parental situation is since MC is still meeting with their father apparently?

Anyway, great work on the update!

Found the perfect bottle to enjoy the update with :wine_glass:

Well no surprise, you have made it very difficult to not totally fall for Grayson. But I still love K too. What have you done!? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I’m already in love with this story and K and can’t wait to learn more about the parents!

Does it have to do with K being the Mayor’s kid?

Considering that it only occurred to me on my… fourth? playthrough, I’d say it didn’t! Especially if it gets more awkward afterwards, there is so much potential there!

I’ve replayed the demo idk how many times and I too came to no conclusion. @wildelight may u drop one small hint for ur one braincell fans . we are struggling

I loved the update, and I really really enjoyed seeing more of the MC’s backstory and how their personality is being developed. Also Grayson? A whole snack. Also 2.0. your writing and humor? On point as always.

So my theory for this is that the MC’s parents kicked them out, since I found it curious that one of the choices during the flashback was: ā€œYou’re kicking me out, tooā€ Or something like that. That ā€œtooā€ was what made me think that, but I could be wrong and missed something in the conversation that promoted that ā€œtoo.ā€

Ok. So a hint for those who want to try and figure out the ā€œincidentā€:

How is one member of MC’s family different from the other two?

A second hint:

Read the descriptions of what it’s like for Ments when MC is nearby.

Close, but it’s a little more complicated! You’re on the right track, though.

Not really!

Given you a reason for multiple playthroughs.

I’m gonna throw this on to my favorites list. Love the idea and the characters. MC is super well written imo.

Nick and MC inherited their mother’s eyes. Did the dad think we’re the result of an affair mom had? Or was it the mother that overheard that stray thought and didn’t like that? Hmmm…

Anyway, I can already see myself replaying this a million times, seeing as I already replayed the demo a good number of times. The humor is top notch and the angst is too! Can’t wait for the full beauty of this story
