Edit: Yay! Fixed.
Yea, because of the image between the two paragraphs. Edited now
A very appropriate image.
Nani a story where you are not the chosen one now that sound interesting
First off Iâd like to say that up until now I never bothered to write in threads since the day I forgot my password. But this wip, this wip actually made me want to try different password combinations, even after the fifth failure I finally forced myself to press the âforgot passwordâ button. Here I am, finally able to write something in this wonderful thread.
Mind Blind truly made me feel things and Iâve rarely been invested into wips simply for the fear of them never seeing the light of the day. Your writing style is very fluid, I never had to work to read through a page. The way you describe emotions is very beautiful, the entire wip is beautifully written. Healthy sibling relationships is so rarely portrayed in media and Iâm already so overprotective over Nick itâs not funny anymore.
The way you write trauma is also very respectful and insightful. No matter if a MC is confident or playful, stoic or brash, trauma effects them no matter their characteristic traits, it was something very believable and Iâm very very pleased with how it turned out so far. Even my icecold heart skipped a painful beat on certain parts in the demo!
The characters are fantastic, I love them all and their differences make them very intriguing. Doesnât help that I have a teacher kink and immediately attached my MC to Rosy just for the sake of it. (I love Rosy??? Very much???He can give my MC private lessons any day.)
You truly delivered on the premise and I cannot wait for the day this WiP will get another update.Thank you for putting so much hard work and creativity into this!
Wouldnât it make more sense for MC to consider it? Because the options to respond to Nickâs saying âWeâre against the planâ was to insist itâs up to MC only. But since Nickâs sharing the cranial hell space thatâs my buttonâs head, it would have to be a joint decision. Unless neither of them even stopped to think about the consequences of Button dying with Nick in their head. Which could be a way to make the plot go the way itâs supposed to. As it is with the bodyguard thing.
I feel like this may be super nitpicky, but replaying chapter five reminded me of something about these lines:
Dadâs smile fades.
âCall me if you want to see her,â he says. âShe wants to see you.â
You need to forgive Mom eventually.
No, you donât. Forgiveness isnât an obligation, and people donât automatically deserve it just because they love you. Itâs a gift, and itâs up to you whether it be given or withheld.
Even if you could forgive your mother, could you ever stop fearing her?
This was when I chose for Button to look away and not say anything about Hope returning to see Nick. While I think itâs a perfect response/thought process for Buttons who are fearful/resentful of their mother, it doesnât quite fit guilty Buttons who blame themselves and their own brain for the incident that split up the family. It would obviously be a low-priority change seeing as weâre now heading into chapter 7, but I was wondering if a future addition could be implemented to account for guilty Buttons? Say, instead of Nick asking for Button to forgive Hope, its more of a, âhey, you need to start letting yourself off the hook/stop punishing yourself.â

Iâm so slow but canât wait to play the update!

First time reading through this amazing demo and I noticed something, is there gonna be an achievement for taking all the phobia options on full release?
Yes i was thinking the same thing cuz like my MC is really really pushing on the self-hatred and the itâs all my fault attitude so the set of choices kinda threw me off. But only by a little
Mind Blind Friday Progress
Current Playable Wordcount: 198k
Patreon Demo Update: February 19th
Public Demo Update: February 28th
Button and The Cupid Calamity: February 14th! For everyone!
Thatâs right, thereâs another Mind Blind Holiday ficlet releasing on Valentineâs Day!
Patreon and Kofi have been a lifeline that has allowed me to dedicate more time to writing. In addition to lengthier updates, I can take time to write fun side stories that give me opportunity to mule over how to do things in the main game! Button and The Cupid Calamity is a semi-trial run for Mind Blindâs future chapters: in it, Button will be going undercover with either K or Gray (routes decided by Patreon vote) to infiltrate the nefarious organization known as . . . drumroll . . . C.U.P.I.D.
I might be quieter on social media this week because Iâm busy writing, but I canât wait to share Cupid Calamity with all of you!
I am . . . so honored. Not being sarcastic. Thereâs no greater compliment than being willing to go through the hassle of creating a new password (except, honestly, youâre whole comment made me a little teary). Despite being part comedy, Mind Blind does deal with some heavier issues and Iâm always glad to hear when it resonates!
Thank you so much! This has very much been one of my goals when creating Button as a protagonist. (And Iâm glad youâre enjoying Sallyâs romance!)
Yes, you have to choose. Sorry! (On the bright side, my goal is that Mind Blind have variation to allow for at least three drastically different replays.)
This isnât you being nitpicky at all! Itâs you picking up on what was, empirically and unequivocally, bad writing on my part. Itâs sloppy and unpolished, which is why it doesnât feel right!
The scene of Johnâs departure was very much an âUgh-no-inspiration-but-must-write-something-to-get-to-next-sceneâ placeholder, since I find the best way to defeat writerâs block is to barge right through it without allowing myself tocare if what Iâm writing is actually good because itâs hard to simply write at all⌠All of Chapter 5 was a struggle to be honestâthe combination of winter blues and having no free time left its mark (my flirtation with potential burnout was a major reason why I changed my mind about opening a Patreon).
Johnâs departure in Chapter 5 has since been completely rewritten to better reflect Buttonâs earlier feelings about Hope that they expressed in their lunchtime discussion (although the new version probably wonât be updated until I wipe savefiles in the Great Update That Leaves No Survivors around Chapter 10, since the new variables would bounce everyoneâs save back to Chapter 3).
Oh all right ![]()
Just for youuuuuu
Also do we ever get the chance to punch Satan?
Because I would LOVE to punch him.
I absolutely love it! Looking forward to the next updates !
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa izzo GOOOOOOD!
Okay but my current question I keep coming back to- the Dean and Rosy going on about how Button will be viewed specifically as a lvl5, and few people know about Button being a lvl0 originally, and they are banking on this.
Why is nobody thinking about the fact that in order to be specifically targeted in the first place, there has to be knowledge of Button being lvl0. They chose Button to do this- knowing who Button was tied to, had access to, even if it was a fluke that they just managed to control Button (and presumably if they didnât know Button was 0, theyâd think Button would have high levels because of their family, so that attempt wouldnât make sense), theyâd find out and then spread the information to some degree.
Am I just missing some implication of the undercover, I donât know, but isnât Button-without-Nick officially known as compromised, and leaking that information will put them more under the spotlight. Unless weâre doing some faceswap tech with prosthetics i dunno.
IS SO GOOD, IâM SO HAPPY, STILL FUNNY, STILL GREAT, and I just canât do a morbid run, itâs not happening for me.
If you go back and play the metro route instead of the dogs or walking path to get to Aeon on the first day, it may shed some light on that.
(It might be wise to spoiler your message for those people who still yet have to read the update btw)
You need spoiler tags for each paragraph

Thatâs because the organisation we are infiltrating is not the same as the person who controlled Button into setting up the bomb, according to what Rosy told us, the mind controller and the terrorists have no relation with one another, so in their eyes, Button did what we did out of free will.
Thanks for the responses peeps!
I do mean in the sense though that regardless of it being done or who did it, shouldnât Rosy and co know that Button is now a known figure, able to be manipulated, and change their plan based on that, and the fact that Button is now no longer able to be manipulated due to Nick- though the enemy may not realize this is because of Nick specifically- would mean that Button has responded to the situation- ie they came with intent and to attack/cause drama/so forth. Just find it weird that they arenât operating with the knowledge that some people very likely know who Button is, how they tie to the Wisemans and that they are manipulatable in their specific way and that that changing would be incredibly strange and suspicious, which could put Button in danger.
