If you do and keep the map of England, I suppose that geographically Aswick would be somewhere around in Worcester and that province would roughly be the Earldom of Aswicdale. Have fun blobbing.
if you want me to stop sharing my ideas I will but i have one where you start a abandoned child to a very important person to the remote village that you might even make into a thriving city

Will battles/warfare be a larger part of the next game? I felt that will all of the opportunities for us to lead a battle or participate more in the war, we did nothing in the scheme of things, and I wished that we might have been able to do a little more in the, Lords of Aswick. So I wouldn’t mind seeing it play a larger part, and being able to do more things during battles, but I understand if you don’t want it to.
Just my personal opinion, but if things are going to be very church-oriented, I highly doubt warfare will be a huge part of the game, if at all.
Most likely we’ll be doing a lot more politicking.
But it is possible we’ll end up in a crusade-y thing again.

To me it seems like the church is literally fighting to stay alive, as in real battles. So I would assume that we get to do some of that, and I personally love to see some warfare.
Yeah, it seems like political intrigue will play the largest part, as it should.
Fun fact. All medieval armies had a great selection of priests and monks fighting in their ranks. Not only were they responsible for constructing the necessary siege weaponry, but there are tapestries showing monks fighting alongside the peasantry and knights as part of shieldwalls.
They were also involved in trying to mend wounds after the fights, although we all know what medieval medicine was like. They were also often the ones to write down records of the battles, the most accurate tales of medieval warfare coming from the hands of the clergy who attended battles. It was highly unlikely to have a nobleman in the army who could read and even rarer to have one who could write as well.
Alas, no, even though there will be battles taking place, the meat of the story will be maneuvering around opponents in a field of intrigues, poison and using the scripture against those who are supposed to follow it.

Huh.
I was actually not aware that there were priests and monks fighting in medieval armies.
THANK YOU FOR THE HISTORY LESSON SIR @GOSHMAN!

Sigh. I understand that the need of battles are few and far in between for these games, I just hoped. Oh well, it will be great anyways, so it doesn’t really matter.

I have a simple question can you live till the end of the player and be the kingpit
What do you mean “kingpit”?
I’m pretty sure you will always die at the age of 64, however.
I hate this game’s ending. The cliffhanger was too much… I almost died when I saw it. I knew I would have to hold out against the long winter known as creating a sequel.
God rest you merry, gentlemen.

I’m assuming stats need to be roughly equal - not perfectly equal - in order to become Lord High Chancellor. Would I be right in that assumption?

You need equal stats to become Lord High Chancellor. It should be possible, but will require a huge amount of minmaxing to achieve. It won’t change much in the actual late game if you do get the title.
@Misa101, that particular path of the game ends around the same, either by poison or old age. Poison if you became known as King’s Pit at a particular period of your knightly career, or if you pissed off a particularly rebellious noble family. If you end up in the Crusades, you will live longer.

I had almost perfectly equal valor, nobility, etc. and didnt get it. Does humility/hubris need to be equal as well? Sorry m8
By the way, amazing game! Sticking around for the sequel!

When I get back to the world of Lords of Aswick, I will probably set some kind of better +/- adjustment for that check. There are a few adjustments I might be forced to make when I start building up the sequel code-wise. Right now it needs to be all equal number values.
Humility does not figure into it. Piety doesn’t either. If I remember correctly straight off the top of my head, the only things that matter are Valor, Nobility and Courtesy.
Thanks. Hopefully I’ll get going on my current work and get to work on the sequel early next year.

Last question, I promise. I have always wanted to get into programming, any clues on where to start? And how did you start off?

ChoiceScript is really easy to learn if you spend some time playing around with it. The whole deal about it is to keep it simple and purpose-built to support this kind of text-based games. You can find more about it here and post here on the forums whenever you need help, or look around for previous topics on a matter. The community here is really helpful.
If you want to make anything beefier than the games you see released under CoG or Hosted Games, you should look into something else. Especially if you’re intending to do anything with a lot of fancy graphics. I would like to learn to program myself, but honestly I just don’t have the brain to jump in and play around with C# or Python or whatever. CS alone is occasionally enough to make me pull out hairs. There’s plenty of great websites out there intended for you to learn a more intensive coding language though. I hear good things about places like CodeAcademy.
