Let's Talk About Music!

Some of my personal favorites:

Mississippi Queen by Mountain

I’m Your Hoochie Coochie Man by Muddy Waters

Children’s Story by Slick Rick

#247

Lyrics:

I close my eyes, tell us why must we suffer
Release your hands, for your will drags us under
My legs grow tired, tell us where must we wander
How can we carry on if redemption’s beyond us?

To all of my children in whom Life flows abundant
To all of my children to whom Death hath passed his judgement
The soul yearns for honor, and the flesh the hereafter
Look to those who walked before to lead those who walk after

Shining is the Land’s light of justice
Ever flows the Land’s well of purpose
Walk free, walk free, walk free, believe…
The Land is alive, so believe…

Suffer [Feel] Promise [Think] Witness [Teach] Reason [Hear]
Follow [Feel] Wander [Think] Stumble [Teach] Listen [Speak]
Honor [Speak] Value [Tell] Whisper [Tell] Mention [Hope]
Ponder [Hope] Warrant [Wish] Cherish [Wish] Welcome [Roam]
Witness [Roam] Listen [Roam] Suffer [Roam] Sanction [Sleep]
Weather [Sleep] Wander [Sleep] Answer [Sleep on]

Now open your eyes while our plight is repeated
Still deaf to our cries, lost in hope we lie defeated
Our souls have been torn, and our bodies forsaken
Bearing sins of the past, for our future is taken

War born of strife, these trials dissuade us not
(Feel what? Learn what?)
Words without sound, these lies betray our thoughts

Mired by a plague of doubt, the Land, she mourns
(See what? Hear what?)
Judgement binds all we hold to a memory of scorn
Tell us why, given Life, we are meant to die, helpless in our cries?

Witness [Feel] Suffer [Think] Borrow [Teach] Reason [Hear]
Follow [Feel] Stumble [Think] Wander [Teach] Listen [Blink]
Whisper [Blink] Shoulder [Blink] Ponder [Blink] Weather [Hear]
Answer [Look] Answer [Think] Answer together

Thy Life is a riddle, to bear rapture and sorrow
To listen, to suffer, to entrust unto tomorrow
In one fleeting moment, from the Land doth life flow
Yet in one fleeting moment, for anew it doth grow
In the same fleeting moment thou must live, die and know

Now if you remember there was a great track from FFIX,

Scratches head what was its name…! Melodies of life

Fun fact: ffix is the last ff in series to feature black mage.

#249

please don’t remind me, I don’t want to start crying.

#250

Trust me, vivi was one of my all time fav characters

T__T

#251

i know…but they rivalled Reno & Vincent Valantine for me; so third fave (how can anyone like Cloud Strife, Tina and crazy-psycho-angel boy I have no idea!)

#252

Tbh I like Zack Fair a lot better than Cloud. Glad he was featured in the FF7 movie

#253

meh, Zack cool and all; but Vincent could beat him any day of the week whilst Reno…well…would be Reno

#254

I think I like Zack more simply because I had more memory with Crisis Core. I had a Japanese version of Crisis Core and still somehow beat it, not knowing a single word of Japanese. I went through the entire game with just the basic attacks and the basic fire and lightning spells. Still don’t know how I did it

This ost still trigger me. Those relentless fucks

#255

Good to see you value tradition.

Personally, I like opera, although I prefer to listen to individual arias rather than sit through a whole performance. (Opera is like a box of chocolates: you don’t wanna eat the whole thing at once.)

#256

Another song if you’re in the mood to dance with catchy-retro-pop tune

#257

Catchy-retro-pop, you say…?

#259

“My name is Mok. Thanks a lot.”

#260

Feeling emotional?

#261

Huh, didn’t realize it was already Eurovision. Never realized until I looked at my subscriptions in YouTube. I’m not feeling any of this year’s contestants. Last Eurovision I enjoyed was 2013, and that was also my first.

EXCEPT FOR MOLDOVA. EPIC SAX GUY IS BACK. 12 POINTS FOR MOLDOVA lol.

#262

He’s still carrying the band in this. The other guys are just holding him back from his true potential at this point.

#263

Oo, for music competitions, tossing in an old one from The Voice:

Amber Carrington doing Skyfall. I remember thinking, as I always do, “Why do people keep singing Adele? Nobody ever compares well to Adele.” Afterwards I was thinking, “Dammmmmmmmn. An American country singer just did an Adele song better than Adele.

Sidenote: She didn’t even win the show that year!

#264

In case you need some motivating music to get through your homeworks, jobs, or anything.
Composed by Keiki Kobayashi, another Ace Combat OST.

Jump to 2:25 for the intense part.

Feel free to explore the YT playlist. I’d recommend the leitmotifs, tho: Invasion of Gracemeria, Liberation of Gracemeria, and Fires of Liberation.

#265

The only music I can whole heartedly recommend is epic music, if you really want something to jump start your day look up Two Steps from Hell on youtube or just search 1 hour long epic music.

#266

Shamisen or the erhu but usually people enjoy the sitar.
