There is a minimum character amount a post can be - a post needs to be above the minimum of 20 characters.
She couldn’t, again, historically she would have no choice it would be completely down to the ruling member of her family (the duke), or ultimately the king.

More importantly, can we hide it with magic? I have this nagging feeling that Sophia’s instant cast gift made her dismiss ever expanding her magical ability beyond simple spells, surely disspelling an illusion spell goes beyond her capability as a mage…

Well…the way I see it, it is something purely pragmatic, considering that, one, our country are currently at war and as the prince, we are something of a high profile target. Two, her family has recently killed a prince that was married to them in recent history, and the killer seems to have no remorse over it. And last but not least, she is against the marriage, considering how the aforementioned murder events align itself with the current situation…lets just say that I consider it as a necessary thing to do.
