Some fiction sources have dragons that are able to shapeshift, including Choice of Games LLC.
Doesn’t have to be many though, it’s not like the main focus are dragon
Mm…but she’s probably gonna want to figure out how dragons are sorted in her game. Some games have dragons be different colors, and those colors define their powers, and which alignment they lean towards. Others separate then by kind, Eg: High dragon, drake, etc.

If nothing else, she can use D&D and their systems to her advantage. I think my favorite was the good, metallic dragons (Gold, silver, etc.) Vs. the evil chromatic dragons (black, blue, etc.) of the Dragonlance campaign. All had different shapes, different breath weapons and innate abilities.

I was trying not to mention D&D, but yeah. They have the whole color-based system down. I always felt it was really limited. It will do, however, if she just wants a quick and easy way to sort them.
Also That-Game-That-Sophia-Hates-The-Way-Voldemort-Hates-Harry has them sorted out by kind. It’s a pretty good example, even if it doesn’t have many kinds in the first 2 games.

Eh, I am tired so I went with what came to my mind first. As long as I am not stuck with a dragon from the Eragorn series, I am good.
too tired to gasp and feign offense I like Eragon. I haven’t gotten around to reading the books, yet, but I like what little I know. What’s wrong with their dragons?
