I’d suggest waiting up on it and getting your writing skills brushed up instead you can finish other stuff that is still “pending” if you do want to update early/soon
I still have to get over with the “cringe” feeling I feel now, then I’ll write it again.
Um, I could give you a totally not awkward hug and a cookie. Would that make the cringe go away?
Maybe you need to follow some TV/Movie tropes and take a long shower to wash that experience off of you?
I believe all hugs are awkward.
You and me both, sister. Actually, any physical contact at all… shudder
Edit Just played the update, yay dances!!
I noticed this however…
Summary
FINALLY some one shares my views on hugs. (Unless they are an attractive female specimen)
Try to search sample scene for that, maybe that going help
Edit:
Also @Sophia
The knight leaves. You didn't notice the music has stopped, and the nobles are occupied with their own thing.

I think *goto look_dukes should be after *set wedding_stand "Eddmon"
@Sophia So I’ve played through what’s there and while the writing is fine and the story comprehensible it will obviously require some heavy editing. Especially tenses are all over the place and so is punctuation. But that’s normal and expected of early drafts and just a matter of dilligence down the line.
What worries me however are your stats. For one there’s a lot of them and so far only very few of them have come into play for me. I kinda worry about balance here. But the real kicker is your take on personality and morality. The way ‘Good’ and ‘Evil’ are represented is pretty heavy-handed in my eyes. I refer to gaining a point of Evil for throwing a tantrum at a time when your protagonist doesn’t even possess a fully formed ego, much less a morality-governing super-ego. There’s actual research as to when children develop awareness of the needs of other creatures beyond themselves and while I don’t remember when it’s definitely not at 5 months old. Never mind that you generally seem to follow a mold of ‘nice = good’ and ‘rude = evil’. Being pointlessly rude to people makes you a jerk but it doesn’t put you anywhere near people who do really bad things.
The hand is even heavier with the ‘Cardinal Sin’ aspect of the ‘negative’ character traits. In my opinion there is little to no point in having those be dualistic since a lot of people will see veering towards the ‘Sin’ side as negative results. Are there even consequences to being lustful or slothful or chaste or diligent in the story? Are there positive consequences for being ‘in the red’ on any of these meters?
If so you might want to give them less judgmental names in order to encourage more well-rounded characters.
@Spire later in the game you would know that she doesn’t like when she is not in control. And the scene is supposed to tell nature of mc when he was baby, so the relationship decrease is for behaviour of mc for his baby life not for that single encounter. Remember you got huge strength boost when you were learning to walk from Javier that was also suppose to show long period of time as a child can’t learn to walk in a single day, in that scene you also see no increase in strength that doesn’t mean you never learnt to walk that means you learnt to walk late than others.
And yeah there are some people who hate their children for their attitude but can’t get rid of them because of society. And she is a queen she is not raising the child personally she doesn’t like raising children, the servants are doing the job, so she is not used to child’s drooling and vomiting.
Some scenes can be a little disturbing and are not for everyone thats why it is in mature content category.
So uh… I will be here eating my popcorn and stuff. You guys debate if you want.
Yeh, I agree it’s not necessary that jerks are evil. They are just open, just like the Sophia character in the game, she is not evil she is just confused and is not afraid from voicing her opinion. The real evil is queen vicky she jerk plus evil. While there can also be example of evil person who is not jerk.
Personally I don’t consider anything good or evil every action can be justified while also every action can be considered wrong. So good and evil stat are not my thing.
And yeah there are so much stats to balance. But the project seems lengthy(few updates before she said it is only 3 percent done) and ambitious so I think we will get time to balance stats and we
will see use of all stats at some point. Of course she will have remove some stat later, if they don’t seem useful.
I see, perhaps we now understand where Marxus’ aversion to affection comes from? Perhaps we need to go deeper? It’s been a while since I brought out the therapist’s couch.
Tomorrow on Dr John.
I’ve uploaded the edited dashpic.jpg to the game for you and changed the title to “Embers in Ashes” although the URL for the game will remain the same. If you want the link changed as well, let me know.
I do a charisma run, with two books I obviously can, with one book (I also not choose baby option) and I can reach 15 Charisma in chapter 1(probably because my mc talk to Melissa like that). Just want to let you know since you ask for it.
Since @dashingdon is around, I was trying to load up a save point in @Sophia’s game while I was on my phone. It was not responding to slot 0 at all. Are there any problems with the program. Should I be concerned for my own WIP?
It works for me for both projects. You may have to ‘hard refresh’ as I updated the save plugin when @CJW made a change to allow for more slots.
@IronRaptor you asked if there are enough charisma stat gains in CH1 to turn us into a dancer… well I just checked and we can get exactly 20 Charisma before we meet Andus for first time so it’s more than enough to be it
Solely by getting CHA items to the exclusion of everything else or by the organic conversations?
arrives suddenly O.O Well, this is a lot quieter than I’d thought it be, especially for an update day.
@IronRaptor Idk about C1, but I have 17 Charisma, and I only went for a related item once.
