But going by your statement, being the 17th king don’t necessarily means the 16th generation after Darius. I mean, those who replaced the king would also be from the royal family, yes? Most probably from the same generation too. And assuming a 60 to 80 year life expectancy, that still leaves Darius six generation above us. Succession of the throne does nothing against simple logic and biology.

He and his queen were murdered… Now that I think about it, the 3rd book is somewhat similar to Lost Heir.
