My MC’s Relationships:

Queen Victoria: Finds her annoying, distrust her. Neutral.
King Andus: A strategist with a hardened black heart, my greatest rival in 4D chess.
Melissa: Good girl, the First sign of trouble for my plans; a tool just like me.
Marxus: Big brother, trust him with a few secrets(Minor ones, never trust any one with big one), another Pawn in our father’s game.
Clithus: Wild card(more fun to the party), Neutral.
Sophia: Cannot understand her, pick up my curiosity during our wedding, Mysterious entity; I need to know more about her. “You can’t win a marathon without putting some Band-Aids on your nipples.”

We don’t desire to strengthen relationship with other kingdom we want to rule them, right harian?
We will find lots of badass magic users here and there. We can learn from the old man and become a good magician ourselves.
How is she going to advise us in defenses she don’t know anything about politics.
We are also highly perceptive.

The thing is she treat us badly. Whatever the reason is, if you treat someone bad you can’t expect a good treatment.
Seriously guys do you like being bossed around?!

Princess Sophia falling in love with the MC is useful to him and his ambitions for what she can potentially offer him in the field of statecraft, yes. If my MC forsakes love altogether then she would be the prime RO.

But as a person she’s hostile, cold and somewhat self-righteous, not someone I’d like to get to know unless I had no other choice.

There is nothing of her to be drawn towards outside of what objective use she can be, not anything to love personally.

Melissa’s nature makes it more appealing to maintain her love for the MC. As the daughter of Duke Clarent she also holds her own special use that could rival what use Sophia could be.

Why do I not trust her? That’s obvious, there is no logical reason to trust her.

The canon already states how previous marriage alliances with Darvis and Lucarex ended, not very well, so before I even met her I was already suspicious.

Since she is a Princess its logical to assume her loyalties are with Lucarex, a nation that the MC’s homeland has been fighting for centuries, he’s not just going to get over that stigma and her show against the nobles at the wedding certainly didn’t help matters.

That and she is powerful with magic - a foreign princess from an enemy nation free to roam the royal residence of her sworn enemies, that just adds up itself.

She had Clithus by her side, a knight who was probably raised on tales about the good Lucrasians fighting the evil Darvisians since the war is like three hundred years old. Its logical to assume that Clithus holds no love for a nation that has slain countless other soldiers like herself.

Neither of them are helpless.

Sophia is powerful with magic and Clithus is powerful with blades, both owe their core loyalties to Lucarex, both are in VERY close proximity to key members of House Hyius, so I see them as potential moles or spies that could if they wanted to permanently end the war if they just killed the right people in front of them and ensure Lucrasian supremacy. At least that much is obvious from appearances.

They are potentially so very dangerous thus realistically not to be trusted.

Because right now its either Sophia or Melissa, one loathes the MC, one still loves him.

My MC cannot love Princess Sophia, her hostility made him indifferent to her emotional state, there is no reason for him to care for her being drenched in water and consider it a serious attack, since he is still latched to Melissa and doesn’t think of her actions as malicious.

Besides Melissa’s marriage strengthened Marxus’s claim, so not only is she appealing on a personal level but also has a vital use for the MC: either getting closer to controlling the Crown Prince or having her remarry himself.

Princess Sophia on the other hand represents an unstable peace and is potentially a dangerous foe herself.

Really in an alternate reality where Marxus married Princess Sophia one could feasibly use that against him and rile up the nobles for him marrying their enemy, making the MC a more favored candidate.

And the MC has no reason to trust her either.

This is why I like my suggestion, puppet master and act as a saint to to people as your guise while you rule tactically how you see best through your brother. Thus a cunning ruler.

Alright since you guys are doing this i want to now too so here we go.

My mc is a caring yet political savvy man who has a high affinity for the arcane arts and he finds his family’s machinations distasteful. He never met aless and no matter how much he tried he couldn’t hate her he couldn’t hate the woman who his father must have loved so dearly he couldn’t hate his brothers mother because if he did he was afraid he become like his mother a cold selfish person who didnt care for others and he would rather die then let that happen

Mc relationships:
Queen Victoria: hates her for always pushing him to want to be king and for pushing himself and Melissa to marry in the process destroying his friendship with her.

King andus: a man who he’s only ever wanted affection from but no matter what he does no matter what he achieves he will just be the second son.

Marxus: considers him to be his best friend and most trusted confidant which makes his brothers recent coldness towards him even more hurtful.

Melissa: someone he once considered to be his friend but now they barely speak to each other if at all. He has tried countless times to make her understand he doesn’t love her and only wants her as a friend to no avail.

Sophia: a woman who is a kindred soul a pawn of her family as he is for his own a woman he finds himself caring for even though she only shows disdain but those rare moments where she lets her guard down makes him understand that he loves her.

Clithus: a woman he knows nothing of yet understands she must have great prowess in combat to have been knighted and he respects her for that

We still know little about princess sophia to say she unlikeable, but that depends. At least your mc know what is the reason she treat him like that.

@Vattena when it comes to things like this I think it is best to leave it to the imagination

He has one on his eyebrow, I believe.

I know, I ask because I draw him

Really? Is it in his description?

It’s in the scene where you’re with Melissa.
