I dont think so. Again, it comes back to his insecurity. The crown is the only real thing he has going for him. Sure he has his martial ability, but with training the MC could be as good as him if not better. This leaves the only real thing he has to be the crown, which is a symbol of power, something Marxus desperately wants people to believe he has.

And @Crosdice if our relationship is high enough he can, but why risk him coming back and starting a rebellion, or having some duke try to install Marxus on the throne, after Ive taken it. It would be much cleaner to just kill him and Andus

The people dont like Marxus. @Sophia said they looked down on him because he was the son of a concubine. And since religion plays an important part in this game, and the people already dont like Marxus, it wont be hard to accuse him of heresy, and have people believe it.

Well, Marxus may not do that, but there’s nothing stopping Duke Jerome or whatever his name was (the uncle) from trying to install Marxus on the throne.

But that doesnt stop the duke from trying to install him. The duke could lead a rebellion, and kill me, then the only heir to the throne would be Marxus. The duke doesnt even have to revolt actually, he just needs to assassinate me, then Marcus is king, because he’s the only heir.
