If the relationship between Guenevere and her pet is anything to go by, poor MC doesn’t stand a chance. Granted, maybe the pet could be really protective and getting it to like us could prove something or whatnot.

I’ve decided, my MC will no longer pursue romantic love, he will become an instrument of statecraft, the King Behind the Curtain, the one whose policies will in practice run the kingdom, keeping Marxus around for as long as he still has use to the MC.

Melissa will always have a place in his heart but she is of no use to him, although Princess Sophia is illegitimate that can be rectified once Prince Vince is out of the picture. My MC will never let his heart become vulnerable to love ever again!
EVERYONE will be my pawn to realize this dream, I reject my humanity and its sentimentality over love and honor. Sophia may be cold but she’s still human in the end, my MC on the other hand is a sociopath, albeit a generally amiable one.

I think my root underlying motivation is revenge/retribution - I was born a pawn to my parents and their system, so I want to tear down that institution, taking away everything they love so that that they experience the same sense of helplessness as I did.
Marxus was born to be King, the system decided his destiny and he never earned it, that disgusts me, to think such a person/puppet is related to me, I look down on him, he thinks he’s so sure of his own fate, I aim to change that.
Bringing shame to my ancestors I will enjoy destroying all they have built.
LOL if you think about it, King Andus is to blame, all he had to do was let me marry Melissa and he wouldn’t have unwittingly sealed the fate of his kingdom and dynasty.
sigh Melissa my first love would probably be appalled by the monster I became in response to losing her.

Ah, but does yours have the grand plan to practice tyranny intentionally to have the commonfolk rise up and execute the aristocracy, even making yourself the most hated figure in the empire?
Its self-destructive, but its the same system that denied my MC’s love for Melissa, thus I am willing to even sacrifice myself if necessary, to have the old system scrapped.
Ideally though I would fake my death and live a quite life as a peasant farmer in the aftermath of the revolution I incited against my former class.
But what would be the biggest obstacle to my success… having my own child (with Princess Sophia?) I think, if so then I’m afraid I would regain the humanity I resolved to reject, putting my plans into jeopardy.

Yeah, but look at it in this way you become a hated tyrrant then you make the rules which will conform absolute equality and then disappear after making sure that no one goes above the rule. Making a sudden democracy will only give other chance to youse their power together to become untouchable. So better take power from all the nobles distribute it equally among people.
