Kingdoms: Embers In Ashes[WIP] [OLD VERSION]

Maybe a flea market that allows you to find better items to buy depending on how high your perception is? I need my perception to pay off sooner rather than later. Also, you can haggle for lower prices with higher charm or whatever the stat is :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s Charisma status, and this is a good idea. Especially for mc that dislike spend too much money, I second this @Sophia :upside_down_face:

Ah, thanks for the save.

Alright so here’s my suggestion for @Sophia-

The town proper, these stores should always be around even when the tournament is over.

Blacksmith - Weapons (melee)
Armorer - Armor (metal)
Fletcher - Bows/arrows (you mentioned ballistas. These guys won’t make them, really only siege engineers will be constructing that and only for the army.)
Alchemist - Potions
You’ll likely want to have mages there in some instances for enchantments or tomes. Whether it’s a guild or a single guy selling his services is up to you.
Book store - Books for various knowledge stats
Brothel - “Entertainment” :smirk: You could set up scenarios with ROs and see their reactions. (You and Jaden could go for a “visit” to keep questions at a minimum. The “working girls” could even offer to teach an RO a thing or two. Nosebleeds would be imminent for the MC if this were an anime.
Tavern/Inn - This is as close as you’re going to get to true “restaurants”. Otherwise street vendors were your main source of food.
Anyone selling flowers will probably be street vendors too. You can even go with a destitute little orphan good that MC can “overpay” for a flower to take care of her. (Companions can react to this if the option is chosen.)
Clothier/Tailor/Seamstress - Furs, dresses, outfits for self, etc. You could also include a cobbler for shoes/boots as well.

Fairgrounds - This will be your travelling vendors in town for the tournament. Use this as a temporary source for entertainment, exotic stuff and rarities.

Troubadours, dancers, puppet shows - Fairs bring people, groups of people want to be entertained. You’ll probably find a lot more entertainers than you’d normally see at town at the fairground. Even those who are “regulars” in town would probably be at the fair to make their coin.
“Pet store” - Your animal trainers aren’t a super common profession, even though dog trainers and bird trainers would be relatively easy to access due to the fact that royalty would be their biggest customers. Your animal trainer in town would have some rarities. Mountain lion, griffon, “dragon eggs” (could be real, could be fake), golden eagles (a falconer could train one in theory but I’m placing this here due to a more “exotic nature”), snakes.
Jewelry/Amulets/Trinkets - Again I’m placing this in the fair. While you probably have one in town, you might find more exotic works at the fair right now.
Relics - I’m sure someone is wanting to sell some “holy relics” of real to questionable varieties at a fair. Does the Holy Church smile on such a practice?

Anyways, those are a few ideas from a sleep deprived brain. Might think of more later.

The wise erudite is here to save the day Sophia! XD

I find it funny how you have a nice description of every place except for the brothel.

Fixed that for you. Glad you appreciate them.

Upon further contemplation, the “working girls” could even offer to teach an RO a thing or two. Nosebleeds would be imminent for the MC.

@Vattena Still going over the game. I’m writing down what I find and how it should be as I go.

It’d be nice if, when getting a fake one, the animal you got would be a random one xD So maybe you get something common or maybe you luck out. Oh, and if you had high perception, you might be able to find out which one was real.

How about an egg lotto ?

What if we were able to buy a gift for Sophia/Melissa and we would have to pick something special for them to like ( For Melissa we could pick flowers or something simple since she already loves us, for Sophia maybe a book or something)

But I like my freedom and I’m a Observer first and foremost. :wolf: :relieved:

That, and not being tied to a group makes it easier to go to unknown places to find clues to the nature of a story, the characters that inhabit it, and what kind of world is being developed (even if I’ve take a certain liking/disliking to something to some extent).

To be fair, It helps that Children of the Gods deal heavily in Greek mythology, something that many people have some familiarity with to varying levels. So even without a current update, people can still have discussions involving Greek mythology since it still relates to the game (and there has been a good deal more revealed about the world that let’s us talk about multiple theories).

@Sophia is currently building her own world, so it’s trickier to find things to discuss about when we still haven’t seen too much of the characters, the world, or the varying cultures in action (or even what kind of cultures she took inspiration from). Though maybe some of these things were mentioned before, but were lost under the large amounts of RO wars and memes.

Who?

I meant the Second Prince; I have no idea who that other Prince is.

There a very HUGE difference between a yandere and a tsundere.

A yandere is defined by their obsessive love toward a character. They will both hurt the people around them and even the person they love. Their ‘affections’ in this case are extremely unhealthy and highly selfish, not even considering the feelings of the person they ‘love’ if the feelings aren’t directed toward themselves. A number of factors do play into the role of why a yandere develops that sense of twisted affection for someone, but watching them love anyone is far from a pleasent thing to see happen.

A tsundere is someone who is very guarded toward people, particularly strangers who they have yet to know; the reasons always vary (along with how harsh their behavior is, which itself depends on a number of factors), but they are often understandable reasons in the end. They are surrounded by a harsh or even cold armor that was created to help them cope with hardship . Once that armor is cracked though, they also tend to be really warm people with some insecurities and are emotionally vulnerable in a number of way. Once that armor of there’s is cracked and their trust is earned, the person often finds themselves with a steadfast ally who may still have their snark, but intends to snark at their side right to the end. And as lovers, tsunderes often harbor a gentle passion toward their partner and would do their upmost to protect them (even if they still struggle a bit with their ability to be honest and vulnerable, but by then, the person they love tends to have a good handle on what their true emotions are).

Tsunderes do have their insecurities and bits of selfishness as well and can at times hurt even the people they care about. But unlike a yandere, they show a lot more awareness to the feelings of the person they love and even show regret for being the one to cause that pain, struggling through their natural instinct to be guarded and to open up enough to comfort the person they didn’t mean to hurt. It is much more rewarding to watch such a character open up slowly with time and touching to watch those moments where they show those hints of emotional vulnerability more and more as they come to trust the person they are with. Even more touching when seeing a tsundere alone with their lover, where they are most open and gentle, especially when they seeing their partner is going some hard times, showing them that no matter what, the tsundere will always be there to remind them they are loved and protected by someone.

Sorry for the long response, but I myself really don’t ever like comparing a tsundere’s love to the way a yandere ‘loves’, when the former’s affections feels more genuine at the end of the day while the latter’s affections are heavy with selfishness (even though there are some yanderes that have a number of sympathetic traits that can make someone feel bad about how they came to ‘love’ in a twisted way).

That’s a interesting bit to learn; so would she be the voice of reason to Sophia in some cases like “The Second Prince seems nice” or “He seemed really worried about you” as more time passes and she sees that the Second Prince is doing his best to and actually does want her to feel safe?

I feel like Clithus might be the type of friend to lightly tease Sophia if she starts noticing that her friend is slowly starting to fall for the Second Prince, though more because she is happy to see her friend finding love despite the circumstances.

Clithus is now that friend that just drops whatever she’s doing for just long enough to say ‘Whatever, he’s fine.’ XD That one friend that’s not helping at all. And eventually start giving Sophia looks like :smirk: whenever the MC is near xD
Edit: @AmericanShakespeare In your case, it’s Sophia doing the :smirk: face xD And Clithus turning as red as her hair

It’s more my eyes that hurt from going through the many posts that have gone up while I wasn’t able to get into the Choice of Games forum due to lacking a computer at my house.

I write stories of my own (even looking to eventually start making my own stories for the website once I get a computer to do the work on), so doing a lot of writing is not so odd for me (especially when it comes to writing opinions and observations on characters). Though my thoughts come faster than my hands when I write, so I sometimes forget to finish some sentences by mistake.

You know, when I imagine that moment when Sophia and the Second Prince actually sleep together in her room for the first time (just sleeping), Sophia wakes up to see Clithus have that little cheeky grin on her face as she causally say “Sssooo…looks like you’ve slept well :smirk:” as the knight takes in the view of Sophia being snuggled in the arms of the Second Prince (though they both originally slept with their back to each other due to nervousness). The sudden embarrassment of the situation causes Sophia to abruptly get up, which makes the Second Prince fall off the bed, causing Clithus to burst into uncontrollable laughter as Sophia tries to stammer out a ‘logical’ reason for her sleeping with him. Meanwhile the Second Prince rubs the bump he gained from the floor’s wake up call.

(Bonus if Kris is both the Seocnd Prince’s Spymaster and best friend):

Kris: Where’d you get the bump? Your old man try to force you to ‘spar’ with him again? :disappointed_relieved:
Second Prince: I slept in Sophia’s room last night and then she pushed me off the bed in the morning.
Kris: …:grinning: The hell?
Second Prince: DON’T LAUGH! :flushed:
Kris: (Continues to laugh harder, holding their stomach as they vividly imagine the Second Prince’s morning experience).

Headcanon accepted! :joy::joy::joy:

sigh I’m going to have to go here don’t I?

Do NOT read if marital morning scenarios are not your thing. Read if anime parodies are. @Sophia should also read for a laugh.

Summary

What will likely happen if they sleep together for the first time. Embellished with anime tropes.

Sophia slowly wakes up as dawn’s rays hit her eyes. It was an odd night, Reinhardt had come to her chambers to talk to her about a runic pattern he found in one of his tomes. One formula led to another and they studied through the evening. The now-familiar bed and the room came more into her focus as she began to stir, only to encounter resistance. She looked down and noticed arms wrapped around her stomach and chest.

She looked behind her and she could see the sleeping face of Reinhardt behind her. He was still dressed in the same clothes that he had worn when he visited her the night before. He looked peaceful and technically he was in his rights to be there but it was so sudden! She wasn’t ready for a man to be with her like this!

She struggled again to get out of his hold and felt him press her closer. She felt his knees against her legs, digging lightly into her skin and then she felt something else press against her. She screamed loudly, causing Reinhardt to stir and awaken from his slumber.

Sophia pulled away from him as Reinhardt slowly lifted himself from her bed, “Good morning!” He said sleepily, “What’s the matter?”

Sophia started stammering and shaking as her eyes were still wide from her experience, “R-r-r-REINHARDT you impure man!”

Multiple things happened at once. Clithus came crashing into the room, her armor haphazardly hanging on her frame and sword already in hand, “My lady! What happened here?!” Sophia had conjured a fireball and began to look menacingly at her husband. Reinhardt was still disoriented and wondering what was going on when he looked down, realization dawned on him quickly.

Reinhardt started to wave his arms in front of his face, “N-no! It’s not what you think, Sophia! This is perfectly normal!”

“Oh, so you truly are the beast of a man that I figured you for?” Sophia stepped closer as the ball of fire expanded in size and a menacing grin grew on her face… Clithus, realizing her lady wasn’t in danger, closed the door behind her and leaned against the doorframe. Taking in this sight as she was unnoticed by the couple.

“I’m not a beast!” Reinhardt explained, “We just fell asleep and well… you’re beautiful and I dreamt about you and…”

“REINHARDT! YOU PERVERTED IDIOT!!!” Sophia screamed as she unleashed her fireball, causing the roof of the palace to explode. The force of the blast sent Reinhard screaming into the air, disappearing into the sky.

Clithus stepped forward, looking up into the newly made hole, “That was a little much, don’t you think Sophia?”

Even more hilarious.

Though I imagine that Sophia is the type who would forget about her magical prowess when the Second Prince gets her flustered enough through his teasing and would settle for chasing after him to give him a physical beating (whether she has the athletic skills to actually catch him has yet to be seen).

Meanwhile Kris and Clithus just watch the two in the distance looking like a pair of kids playing tag and turn to each other:

Kris: Looks like they’re having fun. :grinning:
Clthius: Yeah

@IronRaptor

What a way for the Second Prince to wake up in the morning (though I can imagine Sophia’s own state of shock to her first morning experience with the Second Prince).

While I wouldn’t want that exact scenario to happen in the game, it still amuses me greatly as a fan of anime.

Oh trust me, I wouldn’t want it in the book. However, if I were to adapt this work into an anime series, that’s how I’d picture the two of them together. Probably close to the relationship in Zero no Tsukaima.
