Because he’s not that cunning of a man.
He may be playing some type chess game that likely threaten the lives of those he think very little of (especially the Second Prince and Sophia) a good amount of smarts would be needed to execute this plan effectively. But I think his resentment toward the Second Prince in general would likely never let him see the boy as anything but being a adequate pawn for certain occasions and certainly not one he would ever intend on interacting with much.
Besides, the man clearly prefers to use force and intimidation to handle most of his issues. It makes me quite curious to see how he will react to most of the nobles allying/swearing loyalty to the Second Prince and not being able to put them under his control with his preferred methods.
A reasonable compromise (good to know your guild already should someone answer your peaceful offers with violence).
I’d offer to join, but I’m a Wolf, not a Paladin (though I’m very certain I’d look pretty good in armor) .
If that does end up being the case, Marxus would feel like a character that would be hard not to pity as you watch him fall.
It would also make Marxus one of the victims of Andus’ actions (though more on a unintentional level). It was clear Andus had not chosen the First Prince due to him having the skills that would help him be a king; he had gotten Marxus to be King mostly so that his youngest son wouldn’t become king himself due to the fact he resents the child. I feel that even if the Second Prince had shown signs of being the heir that was more capable of dealing with the burdens of being king and having a natural aptitude for it, Andus would STILL make Marxus the future king (even if his firstborn child showed signs of being unwilling to claim the throne and not being the type who could handle the pressure).
In a way, Andus can potentially end up destroying the last thing left that connects him to Aless with his own hands. Though he would probably be in denial about it and find some other person to blame in that matter (most likely the Second Prince).
Wow, she and the King really were made for each other. Surprised to know that the fact it is Sophia who is married to her child rather than Melissa isn’t one of the reasons that the Queen is not too keen on the foreign princess.
I don’t know if this question is too spoilery to answer, but let’s say (hypothetically) that the Prince has managed to gain the affections of one of the ROs. How would they let him know that they’re willing to in a realtionship with him (like which ROs are more action oriented when getting their feelings across and which ones are more word oriented).
Though Children of the Gods tends to be more focused on their topics admittingly…
