I agree with you but giving more power to govern their lands more freely is too dangerous for my liking. Do what Louis XIV the Sun King did when he found himself in this similar position. He knew too well the disloyalty of the nobles, the did instigate a rebellion when he was young. I think it is better to centralize power, and have the powerful dukes and nobles of great importance stay in the capital. Give them honorary titles for them to stay in the capital. The nobles must be dependent upon you for their well being. The shogun in Japan forced nobles to bring the families and retinues to stay in the capital for at least six months.
Any good autocratic knows that their political depends on feeding they key supporters well but not too well enough for them to have extra to plot against. Vladimir Putin is a good model of what a good autocratic leader is. He centralized everything, from the media to state run companies. He even gave himself power to elect governors of Russia.
Of course you might want to be a good autocrat who is there for the people. Singapore is then a good model to follow but still follows the central rule of centralizing power.
I agree but the chance has a usual tendency of wanting to be independent. They grow all powerful, they will demand to pay no taxes and the church will probably become a problem for your successor. History does show that the church had a lot of influence even if they came in conflict with the monarch. They will demand more and more special rights. But I agree with you in principle, you do want the church to be on your side.

Thanks, I read once here from @Sophia that the two kingdoms had different cultures like how they bury their dead. And so I got the idea that they might have two different religions, I guess I was wrong

There is Gods that have blessed king and the first king has defeated demons ( not aliens or creatures from other dimensions ) so it’s mostly proven but I think sophia could clear that
Oh, I know it’s not a good idea to the nobles too much power. But the centralization means you would have too much to deal at once. Again I am letting them do what they want in regard of the people and the land. But every Duchy will have a official tax collector for the royal coffer and a regiment of military to enforce their claim. The board and lodging of the soldiers will have to be paid by the Duchies themselves. The head of the regiment will also be the official from the crown to enforce laws.
In the end you can sleep in your own manor but you will be guarded by soldiers loyal to the crown, not to Duchy.
