That’s not true beating Thuja requires a butt-load of different (2stats I think) of stat checks and also some other creatures I believe

I can give you numerous choices all pertaining to stealth or blades. Freedom isn’t constrained that way.
Someone else mentioned failure. That is more difficult. Even D&D had stats to try to offset 100% pure luck. If I don’t use stats, what would be the source of “balance” for the game beyond a deus ex machina which gets old after a while.

I have your money already, I don’t care how much you play my game if at all. (Typical corporate response.)
Now continual games with that philosophy would eventually bite me in the backside. I won’t deny that.
