Second character: The pragmatist
He is very understanding of his father and brother. He was fond of Melissa as a friend but not in love with her (actually a little relieved because he thinks she was in love with him). Very intelligent and charismatic (little skill with magic). Understands that his father is trying to isolate him politically since this marriage makes it so his brother has:

Finds this somewhat amusing since he has no desire for the throne to begin with. A tad bit too lazy to honestly wage war on anyone and personally plans to just go along with the flow although he is somewhat protective of Sophia considering her position (isolated and alone in her kingdom without supporters) to be blatantly unfair and unjust.

Would it be possible to be given an option to glare at our father with clear, cold disgust rather just punching him? Or use our (possible) silver tongue/intelligence to give him a offhanded insult of some kind, and for our father to only realize that a little after the son leaves the room, making him roar in anger and letting the Prince smirk to himself when as he walks fully away?
I’m all making it clear to ‘Daddy Dearest’ that he is the last person I hold any respect or affection for, but I think that a number of readers may be a little too smart to just outright punch him while they lack the strength to put up an actual fight or lean toward preferring cunning over brute force, as it simply makes King look more like a simple brute if he tries to retaliate to his child’s calm intelligence and charisma with any type of aggression.

My first mc is going to be extremely torn as he believes in staying loyal but also knows and holds onto his love of Melissa. He’ll remain faithful to Sophia for the simple fact they’re married even if unwillingly and because he believes in the cause of peace but he will be watching Melissa and Marxus and if Marxus mistreat Melissa then my mc will kill him bit if he doesn’t and is just a bad ruler he will dethrone him but spare his life while working with Melissa to create and maintain peace as partners.

You are quite a dutiful Prince, it is quite similar to my MC but the difference betwwen yours and mine is that mine is doing it for power and not duty. Princess Sophia is considered a bastard in her own nation, so this marriage to my MC seems useless. On top of that Princess Sophia is not well versed in politics. Well I guess the old saying is true: “The one who wants to wear the crown, must bear its weight.” I guess not everyone is willing to scheme, kill and back stab to attain the throne.

Haha! Princess Sophia turned out to have the same eye and hair color as my Prince Tarquin.
And I imagined him as pale-skined and pretty as well! People are gonna think they’re related!

Can we take a second to appreciate how fucked Melissa’s life is? Fist she’s told she’s marrying the second prince, then learns that she loves him, then she’s told she’s getting married off to her brother, then she has to sit and watch the man she loves marry someone else. And we’re only in Chapter 2 guys.
