Queen Victoria does seem more humanized in the update, before I didn’t think she particularly loved the MC anymore than she tried too use him as a tool (its like she wants to defeat the dead concubine Aless who Andus clearly loved more than her by having Marxus displaced as heir) to further her own agenda.
Still not sure if her love is selfless or narcissistic, whether she genuinely wants the best for the MC or wants the MC to become King so that she herself can influence them and gain real power, as it seems to me at least that Andus treats her more as a figurehead and even implied he would execute her if she continued her political ambition.
Andus loved that seducing lowborn and made her son his heir while he married Victoria as a political gesture. I question why he even sired a child with her, perhaps to produce a pawn with political value but no power, which is perhaps how Victoria see’s herself.
Either she doesn’t wish the same for the MC or she wants to change her own fate and is using the MC to facilitate her desire to hold real power. One could hate her but honestly from her viewpoint it seems quite understandable.
I’m getting Rhaegar Targaryen vibes from Marxus, to whom I feel increasingly conflicted over. I get the feeling he would make a great King, it seems he has the potential to be as strong as his father but his overall disposition comes off as more softer, like he’s in melancholy.

Ahh, there’s the deep post we’ve been missing. Careful, Rhaegar Targaryen was a doomed and melancholic character. What with the whole ‘curse’ thing in the place and day he was born in that no one would talk about.
About Prince marxus be a king, I recall that @Sophia said he going to be good king, but not really diplomatic. Are you know about king andus history?
That begs a question though, why didn’t he just marry Aless? Why keep her status as a mere concubine?

‘Are’ I know? I do know only a little of what @Sophia wrote about his history and I do picture child Andus as being unusually tall or strong for his age, considering he did allegedly kill a bear aged 12 (perhaps how he got his scar) which would required considerable stamina.
I do think its nothing new for Kings to have trysts with the lowborn, but the nobility would have been beyond outraged if Andus, a King, wedded a peasant with whom he impregnated with his bastard child, at least I think a concubine was the best that could have been afforded to her.
EDIT: Actually it seems he was already betrothed to Victoria by the time the pregnant lowborn arrived in court.
Noble will not approve that, it’s probably made king andus lose support if he do that. Although he can also do that because don’t want to pressure aless
king andus also seems like marxus in his younger day, he quite idealistic in history. Which I fear that are how marxus going to be in future
Hmm, let me get this straight. King Andus married Queen Victoria, somewhere along the line he met with Aless and entered a relationship, produced a bastard child with her and she somehow died in a magic related accident, and only five year later did Queen Victoria finally got pregnant and give birth to us. Is that correct?
Heh, and he dare say ‘A foolish talk of a love struck fool’ when we voiced our discontent with his decision to take Melissa away from us…for shame Andus…for shame…never taken you for a hypocrite before, now I want nothing more than to make you suffer.

is only me that hate andus more with this update? i cant wait to kill him and while his dying tell him something like “Now you will never threat my mother again, you will never steal something from me again and…dont worry,your dear marxus will soon meet you in afterlife.”

Aless died from complications of child birth, although it took 5 years before she drew her last breath. I wonder if Marxus has any memory of his mother.
Sabrina (Victoria’s evil twin sorceress sister) was Andus’s first love because she enchanted him but then died because love magic can apparently kill the user. Then he married Victoria and THEN he betrayed his wife by through an affair with the lowborn and impregnated her, resulting in Marxus. Seems bigamy wasn’t an option so he made the mother into a concubine.
even so, not only does him treat her bad but also threatening her life… i want to make him suffer before killing him, i really hope @sophia make that sparring where we can inflict him with some wound? his kind of deserving death already…but a nice wound inflicted by the mc is also satisfactory
I do recall king andus going to injured badly that his strength/sword status is drop almost half of it
i know i suggested it already for us to be reason of that injured …

I wonder if we’ll ever get a mention of Sabrina in the game. Its clear Aless’s memory haunts Victoria (did the two ever interact?) but Sabrina’s actions must have also left a lingering effect on both Andus and the Queen.
