Im going to spend most of the kingdoms money on making sure they army is built back up, well fed, well clothed and loves me so that i can conquer Lucraex again, and if the peasants lead a rebellion because most of the money is going to the army, the army can crush it.
Ah about that, @Sophia remove the save system for now, but she said she will add it in next update
well, the canon mc is King in book 3… so considering what you said , we can guess why now then… that just make sophia more worth romancing since that forces you to kill andus and marxus

It’s simple, if they lead a rebellion, I crush them and take all their money to fund a campaign to Lucraex which I will destroy and take everything of value from the Lucresian treasury then return home. With the money I have taken from Lucraex I will start programs to give peasants their land back so that they can make money, and that money will translate into taxes which will feed the army. But after conquering Lucraex I will treat the peasants considerably better, since I have no need for all of their money.

Just saying, if I was one of peasants in Kingdom with that system, I going to be servants or sign up as army and be spy to lucraex or Duke who disagree with how your mc treat the peasants. So your mc really need to keep eyes open for even small things

Yeah, i thought that peasants might do that, which is why Gareth would station gaurds at borders and completly seal the borders to everyone who has not sworn an oath to serve him. That way the peasants cant get in or out.
Yes but that will be an almost impossible task since the reputation that you will have to spend more money in your army than in the town, the civil war and take all the treasures of lucraex so the other peasents will see your kingdom as a hard place to be
The peasants of other kingdoms dont concern Gareth.What other kingdoms think of Gareth doesnt concern him either.He wants his kingdom to be strong and if other kingdoms need to suffer for that, he doesnt care.He also understands that the peasants will have a hard time trusting him after what he does to their land,but he thinks thats ok,because after he dies,his child will have more time to actually manage the kingdom than he will.Gareths life is not about managing the kingdom, its about securing the throne and making sure it is safe for his heir.
but if you crush your peasent then you will have to depend in the peasents of the others kingdoms you come and live in your kingdom, so Then Gareth should import the opinion of the other kingdoms and also because if they see you as a ruthless conqueror then nobody would want to have an alliance with your kingdom and you could not have trade or allies and your kingdom could fall quickly
Sophia said that you can have a bastard with Melissa but i hope that there is an option to say:" no i must uphold my families honor" or whatever it is she tells the mc during the balcony scene
But im not going to kill all the peasants in my kingdom Im going to have my army lay seige to whatever buildings they hide in. And even if all my peasants end up dying, I can take the money from Lucraex to fund another campaign, one focused on bringing more people into my kingdom this time, not one focused on destruction. The army will of course, get time to go back to their homes for a couple of months and in that time i will prepare for another campaign.
Personally? I’m not wanting a kingdom simulator. I can play the War in the West if I want to micromanage a kingdom. I’ve been feeling (and someone can correct me if I’m wrong) that this is an RPG, I want to dig into the intrigues and the characters themselves.
