Kingdoms: Embers In Ashes[WIP] [OLD VERSION]

Can we kill Prince Vinces wife?

That is because you never watched Afro Samurai.

Or you could just throw them into the dungeon and kill their children.

I think you should use CK2 traits like ambitious/content shy/gregarious brave/craven

One thing i have learned from my experience with CK2 crashing is
1.just keep trying it if it doesnt work after 7 times of you doing this then
2.restart your PC/laptop whatever you have don’t just put it on sleep mode actually reset it
3. if none of those work check to make sure you have everything compatible
4. if everything is compatible and it doesnt work Re install CK2
5.if none of those work re install steam
and thats pretty much all i have.

Good to know that I not only one who set mc to have a mind like this

My guess is latter, while marxus is good as Commander, he strike me as someone who can’t handle the weight of being king, his “break out” as revealed by @Sophia are just backing up my statement. By time pass, he may start envy mc if not already, because it seems like mc is more accepted than marxus, it’s also not uncommon that a king mind is become more “twisted” by time.

Considering Kridus/Kristen occasionally stealing(this not confirmed yet, I assume it like this because how ease is Kris when he/she sneaking around the castle) for peasant… I guess canon mc need his eyes if not mind cheeked indeed.

I won’t surprised if king andus, or even worse, Kingdom of Darvis, fall because of this

Machiavelli was around during the Renaissance, which had a political situation not too different from Darvis. He is the one who said “It is better to be feared than to be loved if you cannot be both”. Those words had served political leaders very well in the Renaissance, so I would have to disagree with you and say King Andus is doing it right.

I thought he had scars.

I think it would be great if there is a option to say - i will perform my duty towards the kingdom - to king andus when he said he want us to marry princess sophia

@augustus27

And there is this scene in A Bog’s Life that supports that thought process…and then points out a really major flaw in that approach. The moment starts at 1:38

Sometimes it just takes that one person to stand up in some way to motivate the others to do the same thing. One person who can rally those around them to their side to face what some may feel to be a an unstoppable force, uniting them with a common cause than a forceful hand.

And when that group realizes that they are more of a equal match than their aggressor’s forcefulness led them to originally believe, suddenly the power of the aggressor can diminish drastically. Because once someone doesn’t fear you anymore, it is difficult to control them with those same means once again.

It’s just have it’s own pros and cons then. Beside, we barely know about Kingdom of Darvis condition, so it’s still too early to saying anything.

It never occurred to me to compare The Prince to King Andus, but I’m glad you brought it up! Seeing as the book promoted justifying immoral acts for preservation/glory, it does fit quite nicely.

However, whether you agree with Machiavelli (and by extension Andus) or not depends on your stance in regards to moralism. It’s a matter of perspective. What may seem to be a just ruler to one person may be a ruthless tyrant to another.

This is true, but you should also make sure that you are always stronger. For example, Gareth will treat the army well and make sure they love him, but he will do as he pleases with the peasants because he has the love of the army. If the peasants ever do try a rebellion against him he will have the army go in and crush them. The key to being a strong ruler is knowing who to make love you, and knowing who to make fear you.

Well, i stand with Ayn Rand and believe in Ethical Egoism and Rational Egoism. What makes anybody more important than anyone else? Power does in my opinion. The more power you hold the more influence you hold, and as history has shown us, influence is a deadly tool that you can use against others to put yourself at the top.

And that’s totally fine! I was just playing devil’s advocate by pointing out the reasoning some may see King Andus differently than yourself. Some might be altruistic, and that’s fine too.

Yeah im also completely fine with people who have different perspectives on life. I was just expressing my perspective, but again i have no problem with, and actually really enjoy hearing other peoples views.

But also taught us that a person with a lot of power can destroy himself since he thinks that he is untouchable and then neglects his back so it is always necessary to have a cold head and know that you can have all the power but you can fall like any (I am not against you or anything I am also in favor of the philosophy of Machiavelli)

I completely get what your saying, but if like i said earlier, having the love of the army and you gaurds/bodyguards will lead to
1.Any rebellion being crushed because the army loves you
2.Any assassin being killed because since you have bodygaurds that love you they wont try to kill you, and will be extra diligent in protecting you (like how Sophia has Clithus) plus you could always kill an assassin yourself if your aware and fast enough
Also, arrogance will lead to your downfall, but having a some pride wont kill you.

yeah you are right but the consequences would be:

yeah the army can love you but that takes time and money then the people could see it as an attempt to avoid a war but also neglected them and that would be much worse

But if the people and certain politicians can not like that you are investing so much time and money in that they could buy those same bodyguards and send you to a trap (A simple mistake on the battlefield can lead to your death but in society … it can be much worse )

Actually, all the army wants is to be fed and clothed well, and have their leader sometimes talk to them and train with them because even if they arent on a campaign they still like to be treated as humans (Ive heard all of this from my grandfather who was in the army, i dont have any firtshand experience so sorry if this is a bit off, im just going by what he told me). As for the bodyguard thing, iI already explained that if they love you (and you pay them enough to support them snd their families) they have no reason to help another politician, because they know you will pay them and help them in their time of need. Another politician might just use the bodygaurds to kill you, and then kill the bodygaurds after they have helped him.
