I think it’s a fair assumption that a lot of people want to end up as dragonborn. (I know I do xD) However, do you plan on using the “dragonborn” label when you publish the game? Bethesda is unlikely to notice a CoG game, but I’d still suggest changing the name. To avoid wrong expectations more than anything else.

Most definitely! Each species will have its own unique subplot. Human MC’s will actually have multiple subplots though, because of the chance for Human!MC to become a hunter

Will humans be able to pretend to be hunters but then rat the hunters out and/or try to become a hunter but then feel bad about it and stop?

Is the name dragonborn really that specific for Bethesda? After all it’s also a race in D&D… (I say that as someone with really limited knowledge about copyright and trademark laws, so forgive my ignorance…)

I don’t know if WotC has trademarked the term dragonborn (after a google search, I have verified that you are correct. They did use it first) but I believe Bethesda has taken steps to trademark the word. While earlier use would have the edge in the case of WotC, if Bethesda trademarks it first, then… shrugs

The term itself has connotations of being the PC from Skyrim, as a google search will reveal that the entire first page is either about Skyrim, or its dragonborn DLC.

In any case, changing the label may save the author legal headache in the future as the application of draconic traits to a humanoid being is different. And as I have said the previous post, would remove the Skyrim or WotC connotation.

Hm, I’ve never really played either of those games but I’ll look into if there’s a copyright or anything. Changing the name if necessary would be pretty easy, so I can always change it later on. Any suggestions for new names for dragonborn?

I’ll have to figure out what the limitations are once I start writing that route, but for now, yes, that should be possible.

Chapter 4 is going to be the start of romance subplots for four ROs, so with that being said—Who is your MC planning to romance? You can pick more than one.
Characters MC has interacted with more (like the suitemates) will have romances start earlier than characters with fewer interactions at the moment (Katia, Gisela, Jarrod, etc.)

Cressida because I like the Alpha Bitch trope (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AlphaBitch) and Astrid because of the tension of she having the responsibility for bringing a human to the school and the romance will just make it more sweet.

Funnily enough I had no intention of romancing Thalia before her name change.
