If I were to say, if parentage and heritage matters, it would be having biological father and absentee mother that is best choice. Coz’ the MC’s granny the President of the college is the most influential woman in the city and literally controls the American supernatural government.

Also, they have the “family hereditary power” that protects its descendant or something.

In theory, yeah, we supposedly have access to two sources of family magic but that stuff is extremely unreliable

Idk if anyone here watches Arcane but if you’ve seen the scene which includes “the line” by twenty one pilots and listen to the lyrics, I feel like this is a perfect song for MC after they’ve touched the artifact (and maybe how it’ll change us once we master it, or how detached and inhuman we feel) :slightly_smiling_face:‍:arrow_up_down::weary:

I’m pretty sure this is intentional and happens if your RO is Katia specifically.

I’m genuinely not sure if it’s a bug or a feature lol, but in one of my playthroughs I failed a stat check and wasn’t able to save MC’s father, and near the end they keep mentioning him as if he were still alive. There’s even a scene where you have an entire conversation with him (which I’ve seen before with a different MC that did manage to save him and I don’t think it plays out any differently? I might just be misremembering). So is this a mistake, or is MC genuinely hallucinating and reaching new levels of delusional? :sweat_smile: I honestly wouldn’t put it past them at this point. I’m just not sure.

Yes, end of C9/start of C10 is meant to be a turning point for MC where you can choose if they get better or worse

Is this on Katia’s route?

There are differences between the conversations, especially if MC chooses villain options :wink:

I’ve enjoyed the demo so far, and can’t wait to see what comes out next. I don’t really have any grammar things to point out (especially if things change), but here are just a few suggestions.

  1. If you gave the formula to save Celosia’s life, then if you try to get the location of the nymph daggers from her, perhaps there could be an option to say ‘you owe me for saving your life.’ By the way, I enjoyed how you handled Celosia’s response if the player threatens her kid :slight_smile:

  2. When Celosia comes to taunt the player, especially if you have the sun, perhaps there could be a response to grab her arm and the power of the sun bleeds through, branding her. It would have a strange synergy to when the demon marked her…and the phrase ‘if you play with the sun, you will get burned’ comes to mind.

  3. Is it possible to get something media related with the player if they have a pet? I could see a Hellhound/Phantom Cat/Dragon Quarterly or some such doing an expose on a Keeper with their pet. If not, this might be an option when the player has free time to do some advocacy for a charity for that. Considering some of the people I know who place their animals on a pedestal, they could like the animal a lot more than the Keeper :slight_smile:

  4. I loved the mention in Chapter 2 (I think it was) about the shrine left for the player. It might have more impact if the player found it say outside their window. Heck, I could see some zealous fan doing some gravedigging, perhaps leaving a piece of Reyna as an offering too…and this could also help explain some of Congressman Moreno’s antipathy to the player.

Hi, awesome work with the WIP, i just would like to mention that in chap 4, if you chose to leave and katia is your RO(havent tried with the other RO), she will basically beat you up and chain you to get back, however in the next chapter MC and her reconciliate without player input, i would like to recommend giving the option to the MC to break the relationship, as that would be more in tune with the situation “You chose the world over me” type of thing. Again, awesome work.

I hate it when MC has to apologize later. They’ve been through so much, and are immediately blamed and called idiot.
None of their so-called ‘friends’ showed much empathy (or at least I don’t remember that in the scene after the escape incident).
Oh, how dare they show such weakness instead of continuing to sweat blood for the World.

Tbh the MC could probably just go AWOL after everything is said and done. Most people in the story are just expecting MC to suck it up and get on with it when they are having a mental breakdown and have been getting into life or death situations out of their control. I didn’t even know Katia actually whoops you just for running away but I do know Leon and Sera react harshly as well.I think I recall Astrid being remorseful for bringing MC into this if she’s your ro but not in this scene or in this book. This keeper business that MC is stuck in might be a curse on them at this rate.

The worst part is that they send basically a taskforce after MC (during my playthrough with Katia, MC mentions that she probably got backup), just to then send the same 3 college students and one beat up MC to get the very important thing, instead of the you know, very highly trained magicians that were needed to chain up MC back into the fight. There is also the point that after MC choices to escape, the story feels very disconnected, as everyone acts like it didn’t happened even the MC, i know is a WIP (Which i am enjoying very much mind you) so i would recommend a bit more of fleshing out, even just a scene when everyone discusses what happened and have the chance to reconciliate or be done with the suit-mates/ break with RO for what happened.

As fucked up as it is the keeper needs to stay as a keeper, they would be easy pickings for every faction that want to do them harm.

The governent and political parties will want to control or imprisoned them

Frostbite obviously wants their cheeks to blow a hole through the veil

Being a keeper ironically puts them in the crosshairs and gives them leverage to control their fate. Running away is a death sentence if they succeded.

True enough though it gives the kill them all MC types all the more reason to snap and kill everything. An explains in part some of the keepers of the past so interested to see how it all finishes out.

That’s the ironic part, isn’t it? Since everyone wants the keeper for one reason or another, it’s in everyone’s best interest to make sure the other guys don’t get their hands on them, which puts keeper in this weird position where they kind of have a winning hand over everyone due to power and influence, but also seemingly having no power at all due to stress and the tug of war from all the different factions

That said, those guys can definitely foot the bill for therapy and a few cruises, a nice mansion, lifetime home and auto insurance, ownership of disney land/world etc. Pretty sure MC’s earned it after all this.

Update 1/16
Hi everyone! Just posted the latest update with ~70k words of new content. ~90% of the new content is for the huge Chapter 10 Cressida/Cyrus/Leon arc. There are also a few additions to earlier chapters. Hope you enjoy and as always any feedback is greatly appreciated! :blush:
