July 2025 Writers' Support Thread

first time posting on the forum!! after planning, plotting, and outlining an idea over the past couple weeks (my planning document itself is 12.5k words already :face_with_spiral_eyes:), tonight i started actually writing the damn thing!

i have about 5k written so far, encompassing the first scene + a bit in chapter 1. that includes some stat modification, partial character creation, and an introduction to the main character and the world they live in. somehow, 5k feels like so much and also nothing at all, and i’m interested to see how wordcount will start ballooning out (especially when i get to later chapters, with RO-specific scenes and branch-bottleneck paths…)

not sure when i’ll have enough to put up a demo and a WIP thread, but here’s a little pitch: kill vampires, spy on vampires…romance vampires?

not in this game there isn’t. later on in the hypothetical sequels to this game (that i may or may not already have plans for), however…

thank you!

The same reason starting anything again is hard: you expect comfort in the old routine but things are different.

I’m going to recommend the same thing I always do.

  1. Try writing in a space you’re not used to, this sometimes helps shakes off writer’s block.
  2. Try to work out for like twenty minutes or more and immediately go into writing afterwards. Getting that oxygen to the brain helps your imagination and gets your mental processing a jump start.
