My first thought on the first scene of Stay Awhile, Yesterday, was writing a scene detailing the parasite - “L’lain”, twin to L’lavren’s own parasite - entering the body of the player character and it… well, you’re not wrong in the slightest haha. I’ve tried to figure out a good middle ground between “too much violence/gore” and “acceptable realistic terror of a parasite in your flesh” and that’s a balance I’d definitely want feedback on if people are more interested in Stay. As for being a criminal, I’ve planned out multiple routes. I highly value being able to pick playing as the villain, not only because stories like Fallen Hero are such great inspiration, but because I love villain stories in general. Criminal background roots HAD to be a thing for this one, I couldn’t help myself 🙂 Player individuality is still important to me though, so hero or villain would be your choice in both stories 100% of the time! Hello everyone! Currently working on a game called _FORMULA_ It’s set to be all about Formula One in 1982 where you (a rookie in their first season of Formula One) goes through that season, dealing with the highs and lows of the life of a racing driver, managing the multitude of relationships all around you, and most importantly, racing on track to try to be the best of the best. Going to have immersive racing, and drawn out storylines off the track that keep you engaged. It’s set to have a few romance options, a plethora of drama inspired from real life events, and plenty of danger and high-stakes that came with racing in that era of Formula One. You’ll begin with a prologue that takes place right before, and during the finale of the European F2 Season in 1981, where you and your rival (who you’ll get to customize) are currently the top two contenders. This will determine your relationship with them, and how you’re viewed heading into your first season of Formula One. Each race will consist of choices, stats-based results, hidden variable checks, and randomness (as motorsport tends to be). Each race will also feel unique as it’ll be following the tracks that were raced on in real life, with plenty of flavor text and choices to be made in setting up your car for that track and your own skillset and dictating the development for the rest of the season. Oh, and your old rival from F2 is now your teammate. ---

Hey, guys. Long-time lurker here, and I’ve been thinking of making an IF so I wanted to check with y’all first. The first thing you should know about me is I am a female, and I’m attracted to males. I have a bit of trouble stepping into the shoes of other genders and sexualities when it comes to writing and I’m not sure I’ll be able to deliver it with as much finesse as it deserves. I would be first and foremost, writing this for a female heterosexual reader unless I hear otherwise from this interest check. Depending on what I read here, I may take the plunge and do my best to write it even with all my doubts. I want to know what the people want before I make a final decision on this. Moving on, I have named the game _Bridge Ices Before Road_ and I hope the idea can captivate some readers. I actually did figure skate for a lot of my youth, so I’m happy to bring one of my actual hobbies into my writing and announce that this is a figure-skating-themed IF! You, the main character, are a recently returned home high school graduate. You’ve been ice skatking for your whole life, and you’re finally ready to train for the Olympics. You’ve been away at a boarding school for only the best skaters. _Boxcroft Academy_, located in Boxcroft, Maine, was _the_ school for young, aspiring skaters. You made a lot of connections with other skaters your age, but ultimately left to return to your hometown in (TBD-somewhere in new england). Your parents and older sibling welcome you home, and you start training at your local rink again. You haven’t been slacking off, but you haven’t been able to skate like _you_ wanted to ever since you got to Boxcroft. Let loose, skate your way for a while. The first of three RO’s approaches you, someone who you used to see all the time at this rink. Dennis Doverman was now on the town’s local hockey team, and who would’ve thought he’d become the captain. Last you knew, he was a geeky little shrimp that helped out at the skate rental counter with his dad. Now, he was different. Attractive. You try to return home, but stop at the vending machine to grab a sports drink (of your choice) and are stopped by your old best friend. Vincent hadn’t treated you the same since you got into Boxcroft and they didn’t. They never forgave you for that, and they devoted themselves to their skating, vowing that they would best you at the next Winter Olympics. They still seem to hate you, and tell you as much before running off. On your drive home, your coach calls you to make sure you show up at training on time tomorrow. His name is Argo and he’s a workaholic. He can’t stop thinking about your routines, about your next competition, about the press around the event, your costume, everything. The man never stops, you think not even to sleep, some nights. You wish he would let himself relax, sometimes. And thats what I have so far, besides the outline and a bunch of notes. Or is this purely just narrative and story? Romance is big in CoG town. How much does it factor into your game? Is this a slice-of-life type of game? 1. There will be stat management. If you don’t know about the judging system for figure skating, it is on a execution-based scale. Before you perform, you turn in a program to the judges describing what jumps and spins you will attempt and in what order at what time in the program. You are then graded on execution. Spins and jumps are worth a set amount of points, and with perfect execution, you receive full points. Lackluster execution, like not sticking the landing or not performing the full number of rotations means you will get less than the full value of the trick. Your stats (Agility, Balance, Power, Creativity, Intelligence) will play into the grades you receive and what kind of program you can choose. Your attempts will succeed or fail based on the spot within the program. Typically, with skating, you will get awarded extra points for making a jump or spin more challenging. For example, preceding the jump by a spin, making it more difficult to enter the jump consistently, or performing something right after the jump that makes the landing more difficult. There should be replayability in the many variations you can create with your programs. There will still be a lot of romance, as I am originally a romance writer and I enjoy it quite a bit. 🙂 2. So, the title is something I plan on being kind of a trick title. It will come up in the narrative and its a secret that would ruin the plot but it’s basically a hint about how to ‘win’ during the climax of the story. Also, the RO’s and many of the characters will not be themed strictly around ice skating, but rather the winter and winter sports in general. When I skated, the rink was the only one in town and that means all the events that require ice will be held there. I knew a few hockey players simply because I hung out at the rink. I think I will remain open to changing the name, though. There may be a better option that I haven’t thought of yet. 3. On the plot, there will be some trials and tribulations that come from being an Olympic skater, but that will play out a little further into the game. I have some ideas but havent nailed anything down yet in terms of a villain or any kind of exterior antagonistic force. The judging system is incredibly strict for female skaters, so it may be worth thinking about as a kind of antagonist. Anyway, thank you for your questions! Hi! Some of you might know me as the writer of CT:OS or Merry Crisis, but otherwise, hi!! I have big dreams for where to take **Monsoon Games** next! Hello. Interest check here too. Title **The Wild Brethren.** **Quick summary** Be a catalyst for the greatest war the Riverlands has ever seen or stop the mercanary band from causing a war and teach them there are other ways to live. Do you want to make the rivers rise and free the Riverfolk from the opression of invading nations? Or support their claims in making the Riverlands whole. Every decision will shape the future of the Riverlands. **Longer Summary** I was planning to write a fantasy game centred around The Wild Brethren; a mercenary band fighting in the Riverlands. A war for the Riverlands were fought between two factions the Yellow Circle (Arthurian inspired) and the Dominion (witches that had formed a nation and uses lifeforce to make powerful relics). The Riverlands were inhabited by the Riverfolk (names are a WIP) who are the native population and have been heavily persecuted by the two invading nations. There’s large distrust for the Riverfolk, as they believe in the old gods, perform hit and run and have totems which summon river floodings, which has caused a lot of destruction. After a ceasefire, many of the Wild Brethren were unable to continue their previous lifes because they feel too out of place and unable to continue normality as they felt purposeless. So the band reforms and sets their purpose to starting another war in the Riverlands. Your purpose of course is to either continue on this path; lead the group (or not); find purpose for the people within the band; decide who to support and find what the underlying plot underneath it all is that threatens to destroy them all. Would you choose to convince the Wild Brethren from setting off another massive war. Try convincing people that war and that they can still find purpose in the world (thus the central theme). Find identities for people in the band, dancing, singing, beekeeping. Reduce drive for war in time. Find meaning through communal efforts and social ties. Get to know your band and they will do anything. Manage the Wild Brethren, become leader of the band; settle feuds and stop civil wars from tearing the band apart. Make decisions for cities to visit, convince the nations to war or to keep the ceasefire. Note. This band is set on war, to get them off the path would need a lot of convincing. Recruit a variety of troops for the band to increase its strength, including mythical creatures and people from other nations (including two not mentioned, one with druidic transformation elements, the other focuses on technology). Darius is a character within the band who takes control or becomes a loud voice for naysayers of your actions. He is a large threat to splitting the entire band and if morale becomes low enough there is a change of it splitting and morale and strength becomes much lower. **Choices** Where did your parents come from before they got killed in the war? This influence how others see you. Choose to support Riverfolk, Dominion, or Yellow Circle for control over the Riverlands, or a permanent war. _Essentially the Wild Brethren believe in perpetual war where they can always be paid for battle._ Choose how to convince the various powers to war or peacec, '_find’ powerful artifacts of the Dominion and hand them over to the Yellow Circle, dress in Yellow Circle armour and attack Dominion caravans etc._ Manage their strength levels so no nation becomes too strong and takes over. Manage Wild Brethrens morale and strength level, recruit mythical creates, or riverfolk (which would lower morale) or find powerful artifacts. Manage relationships within the band and find purpose and meaning for the people therein. **Example Character** Romanceable. King Turlin. The Riverfolk have many kings in their lands. But he hadn’t always been in charge. The Yellow Circle torched their home and took everything, he and a few others managed to flee into the woods and served as a vigilante force for justice and to save people. He is very soft-spoken, having learnt to live, and infriltrate, among the enemy and to never stand out. Very guarded. Secretly joins the Wild Brethren, hearing they wanted to start another war. Without it both nations had focused on the Riverfolk. His conflict is his compassion, having lived and interacted with so many common people. Against his hatred for the other nations, especially the Yellow Circle and risks everything by trying to destroy them. His path is to unite the Riverlands and ridding the factions invading his home. Choose to support him or convince him to compromise. That’s it really. There’s a quite a few more characters and the plot is all done. Would appreciate any opinions, ideas or thoughts on it. ---

Hello everyone. I want to make a game but I don’t know if it’s something people will be interested in. So I’ll write a synopsis or explanation below just to see if it’s something people will like. In a world where 70% of the population is born with extraordinary abilities and 30% without you’ve always been at the top of the power pyramid. Coming from one of the most powerful families, you were thrust into the spotlight before you even took your first breath. And when it was discovered that you were part of the rare 5% born with multiple powers, your future seemed unstoppable. You were destined for greatness… until your world was shattered. Your parents, your siblings, and you—murdered in what the media dubbed a freak accident. But you know better. It wasn’t an accident; it was an attack. Someone you trusted, someone your family trusted, turned on you and your family. You would be dead too if your brain hadn’t overridden your control at the last moment, and caused you to jump bodies. The kicker—you’re now stuck in the body of a random kid from a random and unfortunately middle class family, a kid that should be dead and resting. You are seething, broken, and angry. You want revenge, you want your inheritance and birthright, and you want your body back. You trusted this person. You looked up to this person, and they went and stabbed you and your family in the back. Every day, you obsessively search for any kind of news on this person. They’ve taken over everything—your inheritance, your legacy… everything. They’ve garnered sympathy from everybody. Every video and picture of them shows them sobbing and in pain. Every speech they make is filled with regret and sorrow, about how much they miss you and your family. You hate it, you despise it, it enrages you. They are a liar, a murderer, and a thief. The same person that killed your family is parading around, pretending to mourn your family, stealing your inheritance, basking in the sympathy of the world, while you sit helpless in a body that isn’t yours. Your chance for revenge finally comes when you gain admission to the prestigious Valorum Institute. The institute is globally renowned for training some of the most powerful individuals in the world. It’s known for its rigorous entry requirements, where only a tiny percentage of applicants are admitted, regardless of wealth, influence, or family status. Admission is based purely on merit and power potential. People from all over the world travel to the U.S. just to try and gain entrance to this academy, which is considered the pinnacle of education for powered individuals. Graduates from this school often go on to hold positions of power, either in politics, the military, or prestigious corporations. Even children of the most influential families must prove themselves to enter. Some powered families send their children here, hoping they’ll build alliances with other elite families and further their status. It was your school once, and now you’re back, even if no one knows it’s really you. This is your chance to regain everything—to get the connections, power, and influence you need to take down the one who betrayed you. But revenge comes at a cost. Will you risk everything to reclaim what’s yours? Will you even want to once you uncover the truth behind the betrayal? Sorry, it got too long so I decided to stop there haha. Question: how is a normal kid from a normal family (with no powers? Or with your old powers? It’s unclear) supposed to get into this elite of the elite schools? Also if “you” are dead, how is getting your (dead) body back going to work at all? And if you were that well known and some other, random person shows up with your powers…that’s going to get a LOT of attention, probably the wrong sort of attention, particularly from the person that murdered you. How is that going to work? ---

Hey So first of all I probably made a mistake there, when I said normal kids, I didn’t mean they had no powers, I meant they’re from a middle class family in contrast to the mc’s original family background. Also I never said you would be getting your dead body back, there a ton of ways a scenario like that could go. And as for a random person showing up with your powers… The Mc has MULTIPLE powers, and nobody knows what kind of power a person wields unless it’s something that’s pretty obvious or if you’re told. So no the Mc isn’t telling anybody he has the ability to jump bodies yet. Thanks ---

Hey, just wondering if anyone is interested in a story-rich kingdom management game **Long Live the Monarch** (other title suggestions are welcome, because this one sounds weird to me right now). You play as a prince/princess who inherited the kingdom at the age of five, right after your father disappeared during one of his conquests. Your mother became your regent, but after a devastating plague, she too was gone, leaving you and your sister alone in the pit of vipers. Now, you have to deal with a conniving regent who seeks to control you, a duchess who wants your crown, and a vengeful foreign ruler who wishes to bathe your entire kingdom with blood for the things your father did to their realm. Can you survive? Or will you succumb to the troubles both within and without?
