Then I think my computer is screwed up, 'cause I’ve typed in courage in stats before and it never accepts it, unless I type in leadership and strength first …

@SweetKiss Would you post what you put, so we can get a better idea of what might be wrong with the thing.

here is what i have to do in order for the game to accept it:

ex. percent leadership charm
ex. text strength cunning
ex. opposed_pair strength
Courage
Weakness

@ItalionStailon, if you mean by the name text, it’s all pretty much the same, except for what you told me to change: ${none} (you said to put in the variable, so is that the variable?)

I see the problem. It will apear as “Cunning” but it will only actually represent leadership or strength. You have to create the variable in in Mygame first for it to show up on the Stats screen.

Edit: You would put ${name}, because when a character enters his name, it will change from "None, to whatever the character entered.

Ah I got it! I forgot to put in a comma when adding “name: None”

Funny how a little mistake can screw everything up … sorry y’all, thanks for the help!! :slight_smile:

Ah. So is it working now? Also, your welcome. Always happy to help.

Yes, everything’s all good. I think that’s why they wouldn’t accept the other variables …

@SweetKiss That is probably why. One error tends to cause everything after it to mess up.

Yup, always those small details.

I hate when that happens

@Sweetkiss

The “text” in *input_text is just to tell it what you’re putting in – it’s not part of the variable name, which comes after, to tell it what you’re putting text in for. So it would be {name}, not {text_name}.

EDIT: Blarg – only saw the first page. Good that you fixed the issue anyway.

din’t follow up with this discussion but looks like problem is solved

Thanks Trywm, that solved my problem

the code now reads

*input_text name
${name}
*finish

which works, just need to list it as a variable now & then I can move on.

Yeah, the problem is solved. So, thanks for everyone that tried to help :slight_smile:
