Hm. For Ivan musical inspirations would be horrorcore and grime - fast stuff, brutal stuff. I take a lot of inspirations from Eminem vibes-wise, but the music is an entirely different deal. Maybe earlier Tyler the Creator, Relapse-era Eminem and Stormzy? Anna is hyperpop with very strong Charlie XCX influences with some glam rock here and there.

I wrote one song while RPing one MC, and it’s bad, lol. So now I’m just bastardizing songs I like and piecing them together like Franken-music.

I’ve always been good at writing and English in general so the words just came to me lol. I imagine the songs as poems bc I write poetry sometimes.
And the only rule I have is that the second and the fourth lines have to rhyme with one another. Other than that I just go with the flow. The names of the songs inspire me- the one about the flower was easy.
But yeah in general I like doing it as it adds a nice personal touch to my mc. I understand how it can be hard for others though, especially non English native speakers.

My MC has a (punk) rock band! I’d like to think their music tends towards high-energy, along the lines of Afraid of Heights by Billy Talent, though their discography is possibly actually quite varied on that front, I’m not sure. Whatever it is, the definite through-line underscoring their music is probably a sense of melancholic emotion, like in Name by Goo Goo Dolls (or most any Goo Goo Dolls song, really).
As for the question about how we came up with our most popular song’s lyrics, I personally just came up with the theme first (I think I was considering, what kind of song of theirs would have blown up the way it did?) and then tried to come up with lines that expressed that. I guess it helps that I’ve written poetry before? And tried to write songs before.

I either kind of morph some lyrics from my favorite songs to make them relate to the song, but for the most part I try to write my own which is hard due to my head needing music to be able to put a rhythm and I kinda just started trying to do such thing.
When I do write myself I try to put myself in my MC shoes so I write the lyrics kinda abstract, like using historical and mythological references, I remember using the first siege of Ceuta which lasted 26 years as a way to describe prolonged emotional pain, hello MC.

Finally decided to give this WIP a read and it pulled me in surprisingly fast. The story isn’t in one of the genres I’m reading usually - and all the more floored I am! This is really well written and I love how you combine all the drama with the excitement of the contest.
I love the dynamic of all the characters and I’m shocked how much has happened within just two chapters!

I love to write my own lyrics/speech when given the choice in these games. Also, it is much more simpler because I’m just writing words and don’t have to write chords and stuff.
My first playthrough of demo I wrote my own lyrics, I’m gonna replay the demo when it updates but I will probably just copy a song I like (Don’t want to rewrite it every time). When the game release and I play the full version, I will write my own lyrics again.
